Playing it for the first time, I'm currently in Lezards tower.

Well, ever since I made it to the fourth chapter, melees only do one damage to many enemies...
I mean, it isn't supposed to be like that, right? >_<

Valkyrie is on lv 20, the others around 15, equipment quite new too.
Any advice?

I don't remember what Level my characters were at when taking on the big tower but if I recall correctly a lot of enemies resist physical attacks and are weak to magical attacks.

Also you might want to check if your equipment broke since their sprites don't change if they have nothing equipped.

I only use unbreakable equipment for normal battles,
and magic isn't always enough.

Anyway, I tried Sap Guard, and now the problem is solved Cheesy

Here we go, you should be Level 19 or higher by the time you enter the tower and Level 21 or higher by the time you reach Lezard. Well that was the case for me.

The only enemies you should need to use Sap Guard on should be the Manticores and those Zombie Dragons. Although if you're willing to use them or have a couple in stock, Beast Slayers and Dragon Slayers are capable of killing them in one hit.

Also just as note when fighting Lezard be sure to kill him first so that the Dragon Tooth Warriors don't possess him when you kill them. I recommend using the Dragon Slayer to kill the last one since they're still tough without Lezard and a possessed one can be dangerous.

Alright, I did it...thanks.
Had to use the exp orb a lot in the second half though. Stupid suicidal mass murderers >_<

One last thing:
What level should I be in the end, for both A and B endings, and do you get the sent characters back?

Ending A you'll probably be at around Level 32 or higher.

For Ending B its the same. Any level is good to take on Ending A's final boss just make sure you're at a good level when taking on Bloodbane. Ending B's final boss you should be at Level 45 or higher again though, Bloodbane should be your only worry.

If you're on Ending B you get your sent character's back in the last dungeon right at the start except one Einherjar if you did the conditions for Ending A and watched a certain cutscene.

If you're doing Ending A though you can only get them back during Seraphic Gate.
