Now that the CG art for IU and SO4 is out I have to say the CG for Valkyrie Isometric doesn't look like by tri-Ace, but more like typical Square with its Nomura-esque gelled hairs. Note how in VP2, IU and the SO4 CG the hair is usually very realistic, not on the stylized "static" side like here and in VP:L CG.

Imo everything so far looks subpar, so the only thing I can imagine is that they got someone of tri-Ace involved just to be able to say it's by them. In any case I'm looking forward to seeing the in-game staff list once it's out.

Sakuraba is specifically mentioned to be involved. tri-Ace as well, but without any specific names.

What type of game is this? The new scans make it look like a turn-based SRPG with from features of the VP battle system.

The widespread assumption so far was that VP DS uses the VP2 semi-real time battle system where enemies move concurrently with your player's movement. But those scans sure make the game look like a normal turn-based SRPG with some VP skin. I still hope it's the former.
