Holy moly, this game sold 166k copies in its first four days of release. That's just 4k below ToV's lifetime Japanese sales, and only about 40k beneath Blue Dragon.
EDIT: 1. Blue Dragon 203,740 copies 2. Tales of Vesperia 170, 024 copies 3. Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope 166,027 copies

Now I looked through this entire thread (well skimmed), and I didn't see this piece of information. But you might've already stated it: Appearantly SO4 is taking place before SO1. And instead of me giving you an half-assed explanation (or exaggerated): read the entire article here: http://www.destructoid.com/star-ocean-4-is-a-prequel-plus-more-game-details-79428.phtmlThere's a nifty video there too. Also, "no plans" for PS3 release so far. Which you probably already know, but this dude brings up an interesting view point: This game of exclusivity and timed-exclusivity is really getting ridiculous. http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/06/square-enix-no.htmlWhich means "not an impossibility" basically?
