I know this hasn't been replied to in a long time but I want to participate :p just got the game after all!

Looks like a typo for Riddick.

Hehe, I can't count the times I've yelled out "Come on Riddick! Wait..." :p

1) Can do a three-hit combo with regular attacks before needing to recover for the next attack (at least with Roddick/Ratix, dunno about anyone else). Can't link to special attacks like Tales though.

Yes you can. 1 or 2 hits, then special attack. Though even if it isn't a link it surely looks like one. You can find the item "Combo Link" which I haven't tried, but I believe with that you could "1-2 normal attack -> special attack -> special attack" giving it a slight combo.

3) Pressing the targeting button while running toward/chasing an enemy will cancel the attack! I'm sure the people who hated chasing those spinning witches in SO2 will really like this.

O.O I didn't know this... so I chased those damn witches throughout the whole game? Gaaah! I was like pressing all buttons except the targeting button when they began to spin!! >.< Dammit!!!

1) The number one thing that still makes this battle system feel incredibly antiquated is still intact--The SLOOWWWW battle speed. They really should have sped it up. I need bunny shoes or something.

It seems it progressively speeds up though, for starters "Godspeed". Second, either Agility or Dexterity speeds up movement. To be honest I don't know which stat speeds up what, but my Roddick in the end is really fast on the battlefield and in the beginning... not that fast. Or it might just be me imagining things. However, I honestly think they should've added the ability to go into "Options" and remove "Spell Animation". So that you can continue to fight even during a spell, cus that slows down stuff quite much.
