Old by a few days or so. Surprised it took GameTrailers that long to get it up.

From Abyssal Chronicles:
"Also, fireguardiancoty shared with us some very interesting information regarding Tales of Vesperia PS3. fireguardiancoty went to the recent Anime Fest in Dallas, Texas (Sept. 4-7), where Troy Baker, Yuri's English voice actor, was confirmed present as a guest. He was able to have a short word with Troy Baker regarding a localization for Tales of Vesperia PS3. Though he did not give an outright answer, he did mention that he and the other voice actors "were sent back to do recordings of new moves/artes". Could this be a sign that the localization of Tales of Vesperia PS3 is POSSIBLY (read: POSSIBLY, i.e. it can still be a no >.<) being worked on already? This could be a confirmation, but let's not get overexcited here... at least until we get the official word on it."
Interesting. I'll be fine with my Xbox version though.

I don't know how one could doubt that they're not localizing the PS3 Port.
Namco won't waste money and time rehiring the past voice actors to dub the new Artes for shits and giggles.
Besides, the demo has a dual translation embedded in it. And a localized translation at that, not an engrishy Japanese one.

It definitely gets my hopes up, but the pessimistic side of me thinks that it could just be Versus. It really depends on which VAs they are talking about.
Hopefully it does come over, especially with the PS3 Slim being affordable now.

I think you are forgetting that this is the company that DUBBED HALF OF TALES OF REBIRTH before deciding "You know what, this won't sell, so lets just trash all the progress we made!"
Namco dubs things for shits and giggles just so they can troll us.
Anything except for official confirmation from Namco is meaningless.
Instead of hoping Namco will do something there is a good chance they won't, people should gather and do something like a giant cutscene translation project, so you can watch the cutscenes with subtitles while you play the game. Get a dual monitor setup, and it'll be just as good. The game even has skip able cutscenes, so you just pause the game when a cutscene comes on, watch the translated cutscene from your PC, then skip the scene in game since you just saw it. It's flawless.

Um, what?
Seriously?
Do you have a source on that because that's the first I've heard of that.

If you dig through the PS2 version, there are traces of a partial English dubbed soundtrack. It was a while ago that I found this out, but there was sound clips and everything to prove it.

This was on some forum years ago, I didn't keep any of it. Honestly though, the few clips he posted had such terrible voice acting it could have just been someone trolling.
Having said that, the dub to Symphonia also sounds like random people pulled off the street so I can't tell XD.
Make what you want with all that or dig through the game if you have it if you really want to know. I'd look myself but I don't feel like giving Namco my money for a game I cannot understand.

Yeah, definitely BS. I think someone would have found English voice clips in Rebirth by now. I'd look through my copy but I'm in the process of moving at the moment. :/ It was probably a fandub or something you found clips of.
And what? Symphonia's dub was pretty decent compared to other games back then. I mean Tara Strong and others sound like random people pulled off the street? Ooookaaaay. If you said this about Phantasia GBA, then yes, I think we can all agree.

Because Kouli over at the official boards got the demo on his hard drive and found the dual translation within the files.
Trust me, it'll come.

Compare Symphonia's dub to FFX, FF7:AC, FF12, Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey and Metal Gear Solid 4. Those games have great voice acting. Symphonia is trash in the VO department when compared to them. It had a few good voices, but overall nothing that great. Colette espcially was horrible (and shes like the one voice kept in TOS2....go figure >_>)
And I like to pretend that the GBA port of Phantasia does not exist....
