On Tales Channel, there has been on update for this game. It now shows a list of who's voiced and who voices them... and it shows the Grade Shop as well.

EXPx10's a bit overkill for ToP...unless the game's gettinga major difficulty over haul and Mit has  both seiyuu

Exp x 10 is perfect for the game if they keep the old max level of 999... I remember it was like that in the GBA version, not sure about the PS1 version.

I wonder if the battle system will be cleaned up a bit in addition to the graphics (added combos, no spell freeze). Though, to be honest, it would really, really suck that those great additions would be exclusive to the PSP version.

Yeah the PSX version went up to 999; and after thinking about it a bit Dhaos' 2nd and 3rdforms weren't terribly easy at max level, Meteor Swarm  could do about 4000 damage on Cless if I remember right

I 0wned Dhaos's 2nd and 3rd forms on GBA. Koga Hazan is a game breaker, just use it over amnd over and the enemy can't do anything. then have Suzu cast Jiraya at every possible oppertunity.

Oh yes. That's why I chose Kogahazan as my username. I love how powerful it was in Phantasia. Kogahazan into Moukuurengekiha (if it's the GBA version) was so godly against Dhaos 1st and 3rd forms. Freakin' 2nd form gives the most problems.

Oh, yes. I haven't played the GBA version for a while and I forgot whether you could fit in an ougi before Moukorengekiha.

I have to say, I'm very tempted to buy a PSP pretty much JUST to buy this game...  I can't say that would be logical since I already own the PSX and GBA versions, but hey, what good does logic do you anyway?

Using Chester's Hayate with Cless' Houou Tenku works well against 3rd form Dhaos in max difficulty.  Chester's Taiga also works well.  Hooray for giant arrows XD  I didn't even think about using Kogahazan and stuff. Stupid me~ ><
How I'd love to play ToP again ^__^

I found Toryuu to be more effective though except on Dhaos' Second Form. I haven't actually finished the GBA one though, only the SFC and PSX ones.

I already have a PSP and mind you it broke down pretty quickly and has dead pixels too... the PSP sucks Sad

Although I only got it for Mega Man - Powered Up which I STILL don't have yet as well as the Gradius Collection thingy. I want to play Gradius Gaiden anywhere.

I've decided (sadly) not to buy a PSP to play this game.  It's too expensive.  Maybe once the price drops I'll consider it.  In any case, I thought I would share this with all of you.  Here is the complete list of the seiyuu (translated names) for Tales of Phantasia FVE:

Cless Alvein        草尾 毅         Kusao Takeshi
Iwao Junko
Inoue Kazuhiko
Kanai Mika
Itou Kentarou
Kawata Taeko
Ishizuka Unshou
Masutani Yasunori
Nishihara Kumiko
Meryl Adnade        速見 圭          Hayami Kei
Ishimori Takkou
Nakagi Ryuuji
Neya Michiko
Sumitomo Yuuko
Horikoshi Mami
King of Alvanista   秋元 羊介        Akimoto Yousuke
Runeglom            島田 敏          Shimada Bin
Lenios              田口 昂          Taguchi Takashi
Takagi Motoki
Tanaka Rie
Brambert Milene     稲田 徹          Inada Tetsu
Yamamoto Keiichirou
Goto Fumihiko
Shimowada Hiroki
Nakamura Chie
Genda Tesshou
Yuuki Hiro
Sena Ayumi
Morikawa Toshiyuki

For a list of their other anime/game roles, I'd suggest using something like the Encyclopedia at Anime News Network.

http://animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/index.php

There's a search bar over on the right side.  Just input the translated names and you should be able to find all of them.  Though Jyamill's seiyuu, Sena Ayumi, doesn't seem to have a page, so she may be a newer face on the scene.

I dunno about you but I do plan to import it soon, sure its $50 US but I can cope it. Its the shipping price which kills me. Although my father forces me on a one game per month policy and since I just imported a game this month I'll have to wait for a while -_-;

Hmm, kind of related but I'm replaying Destiny II/Eternia at the moment to try out the bonus dungeon and am realizing that the PSP version probably would have been worth getting if they had at least added a grade shop (if only to keep your cooking skills and titles). Oh well. Maybe next time.

I'm probably in the minority here but I wish they'd have worked on other improvements to the game instead of such a huge focus on the voice acting. I guess it's still unknown if the battle system has been improved (though from other posts it at least seems like the spell freeze is still present as seen in a promo video) but I just skip past the voices acting anyway to get back to fighting monsters.

You could exit Shizel's Castle after getting to the purple stairway after the six elemental pillars to get to the bonus dungeon without replaying the game. But it sounds like you didn't or else you wouldn't be replaying it. Also the PSP version was a straight up port so no GRADE shop.
