So I was browsing GameFAQs and I found this on the ToDr boards:

"I know that E3 is just around the corner, but could you give us some idea of what might be around the corner for XSEED or the XSEED/Marvelous alliance? Any other secrets you can share with your buddies at RPGamer?

Ken: We have tons of titles that we'll be announcing between now and E3 for various platforms. Though I can't quite spell out any titles yet, I will say that we listen to the requests we get from the gaming community and we've tried very hard to secure some of the games that have been requested. We also have an enhanced remake of a classic PSone RPG in North America that we'll be announcing soon which I think the RPGamer audience will be very interested in..."

Verrry interesting, no?

I think it's more likely to be the PSP Lunar Silver Star remake that was revealed in a Japanese magazine the other day.

I think that too. It's already too late for TODremake to be translated. But no worries Cless will do the trick and we will finally be able to play all TOD games.

and here you go

on Friday the mine site should be running and more info be displayed.

While I don't think it's ToDDC, Lunar Silver Star isn't what I'd call a classic *PS1* RPG either (and if it is that game XSeed really needs to get their platform record straight, Lunar Silver Star is a Sega Mega CD classic ported/remade for many systems, PS1 just being one of them).

Doesn't Ubisoft hold the rights to Lunar? And on a slightly off-topic note...another port of Silver Star?

Hymm I don't know. I'm waiting for new YS Seven to come all others games seems to be really nothing special to me. But this year is definitely one of the best for PSP gaming.

This time it's a remake. 3D backgrounds, redrawn character portraits and probably one or more optional dungeons.

Been there done that. I'm tired of Lunar retreading old ground. Game Arts needs to mend their relationship with Studio Alex (or whatever's left of Studio Alex) and make Lunar III.

That's what I thought too, but I also thought "Just how many RPGs are there on the Sega CD which are considered classics, anyway?". It'd be an effortless guess, I think. Being sneaky and referencing the (much more commercially successful?) PS1 version makes the choice a lot more vague.

It's possible that there's yet another PS1 remake being put on some platform that hasn't been announced yet. I'll just never believe that Namco US will license out a Tales localization to a third party (unless they're the company behind the platform) until it happens. Tongue

Yeah. I wouldn't exactly hold my hopes high for this being Tales of Destiny.

There's a lot of remakes/re-releases these days, and I'm sure that a company like XSEED already knew of the incoming Lunar title... so who knows what this could be. This close to E3, for all we know, it might be something we don't even know of yet, but XSEED being all buddied up with Marvelous Entertainment, who published and produced Lunar: Dragon Song adds some points to this being Lunar PSP (it's also worth noting that Dragon Song was released in Europe by Rising Star Games, which is a company owned by Marvelous and Bergsala)

Only way I'd see someone else than Namco themselves tackle a Tales title would be if Namco/Hometek announces it as an outsourced effort ('cause I'm pretty sure they'll want to plaster their name all over it and kindly inform you that it is "their" game and that they're just letting someone else "borrow" it.)

How many ports/remakes of this game do we need? It's just as bad as what square does with the freaking ff1 and 2 games... They don't even ad much of anything to them anyway! Mean while we have the amazing Tales of Destiny remake, which I personally actually consider a remake and not just some enhanced port like LSS and FF1/2 "remakes", just sitting pretty in japan probably never gonna see the light of day over here. Pisses me off /rant

So... Ragnarok DS was just revealed to be released in the US by XSEED.

Ragnarok DS, like the new Lunar remake, is a GungHo game...

So, yeah, pretty much Lunar that's heading our way :p
