Putting Tales of Vesperia on the 360 makes far more sense then putting it on the PS3. Period.
I disagree a great deal.
My apologies.  No matter how heated my desire to debate becomes and no matter what the point I wish to make, I shouldn't go around posting opinion and acting like it's fact.  So at least for that, let me apologize.  I stand by my position, but at this time, I've no further thoughts to add.

so if it wasn't worth it last gen, going from the popular RPG system of the gen (PS2) to one that might do a crapload better in america (GC), why would they do it this gen? they'd want to release for X360 (popular RPG system of this gen, amazingly enough), see how it does, then determine whether it's worth porting to PS3 (one that might do somewhat better in japan). they basically just switched focii from japan-only to considering both countries together. also, keep in mind X360 has been around a lot longer, and they probably started development well before PS3 was even out. it's not like they've said they'd never release a PS3 version, right? same with eternal sonata, iirc.
it's still exclusive now, to the worse console they could decide for, because it doesn't sell in japan and if it was cross platform from the start it would be cheaper.

IF, they were true to their last gen comments, that I am not defending, they should focus on the most popular consoles (I do stand by this one though), the market leaders and the ones they know to have their userbase in order not to separate and fragment their userbase (this also makes sense, but they can do cross platform with whatever else they want); but of course, cross platform last gen was worth it, they just didn't did it. This said... X360 is a worse decision for Japan, by a mile, compared to what GC was.
additionally, if you can only afford or only feel like getting one console, it likely isn't PS3. so i'm not seeing how that argument jives. other than MGS and the FF13 series that's out in like, 2015, there's not a whole lot of appeal anyway, and what appeal is there is still forthcoming.
You have fidelized userbases though, and if we go by that, X360 was more expensive than Wii at launch, so why X360?

I seriously think PS3 still has a bigger J-RPG userbase than X360 in US, let alone Japan.

Not only that, could be X360 if it made commercial sense, I mean Devil May Cry 4 on X360 made all the sense (and then again it still came out on PS3) Vesperia? no it doesn't, not as a exclusive.
the only argument i can really see is feeling like you got shafted as a wii-only owner, which i can sympathize with. but keep in mind it's not often that namco releases full-fledged sequels to tales games; it seems like this is meant to be almost a sequel, rather than just a spinoff, and it's for a next-gen console instead of a portable. i think they'll be putting a decent amount of effort into it so it can live up to its predecessor.
Thanks for agreeing I got shafted for no good reason.

It's totally the end of the stick when something else, that does sell less and doesn't even have a market in Japan get's the next main installment.

Like I said... It's X360 that I can't swallow, PS3 would be admittedly easier.

No need to apologize at all, it's a discussion and we'll try to enforce our opinions anyway, it's okay if we don't get visceral about it.

I respect your opinion though, and I'll say that I'm not impartial... But this matter really pisses me about Namco, I still think that I'm right though, at least in analyzing what I got; still I'll agree that I do make it over the top as well.

Nah, I guess if he was asking for it to be deleted just because of that... it could be really deleted now Tongue

But yeah.

Well, I took a look into one of the topics I made and, just like I expected, I had the option to close my own topic.  Topic creator (jajaswipo), you might want to try that...that is, if it isn't already done by that time.
