PSP/DS Tales would be easiest since imports work on English consoles.
A lot of Tales games is pretty user friendly without having  to read anything, so you don't have to learn the language just to enjoy them (though if you're interested in Japanese, I'd say go for it). The Team Destiny games, for example, like Tales of Destiny 2 or Tales of Destiny remake have really nice interfaces, freaking blinking dot on the world map tells you where to go next....you only need to look online occasionally if you're stuck.
Tales of Rebirth or the Radiant Mythology games (due to quests) are probably the least friendly for non Japanese speaking importers. Everything else I find, can be pretty easily played.

I've been wanting to learn Japanese since I was a little kid, no way I am giving up now. :p
And I wouldn't want to miss the dialogue and I still have to get through Vesperia (The only mothership title released in the states I haven't beat yet).
