Yeah, there's a ToI menu patch in the works (with apparently quite a bit done), and the maker is hoping to make the patch translate the whole script in the future.

Just knowing someone is working on ToI is great news. Wish someone would work on Tempest as well...

EDIT: *looks at screenshots*

woot

I take back what I said, this really needs a _LOT_ of improvement. Tongue

actually i think there was more than one person. I'm pretty tired but i think i remember three different people working on them, if not at least 2.

yup, there's 2 person at the moment
that link posted above, mine, and the other one named psychoblaster, a korean,  though our translation are not that far apart at the moment and we often exhanging infos on this game and translation

yes inded, mine still need a _LOT_ of improvement Smiley
what can i say, overall, till the latest patch, it's only a couple of hours work accumulated.
i've extracted all text for the game and got almost all translated on paper (exclude story script) but don't really have time implement all atm.
kind abusy with real work project and study research so don't really got that much time. i just work on it on a whim, whenever i feel bored with life.
sorry for the inconvinient of the translation, since at first, i just made it so my little brother can play it well without the need to always look at walkthrough or translation script, so it wasn't meant to be serious translation at first ^_^

about repointering and adjusting translation, well, already got this game pointers figured, but then again, i'm a bit to lazy Cheesy
well the thing is, i can't really unpack and re-pack this rom without causing further error and crash atm. for some reason every tool i used always give me bad rom image every time i re-pack the rom, thus i didn't increase system binary that contain all those text (to get me more space for trasnlation)
that's why i hack this game in in rom file state (full rom, 128MB) not the actual binary size that hold the info.
though i can still re-point without resize the binary size (arm9 binary to be exact) and mess around and reduce other word to to give more space to certain word, but i'm afraid it won't be good in the long term

currently still looking for a a way to unpack and re-pack the rom and getting problem. since arm9 binary isn't part of the game filesystem that can be browse normaly that can be easily replace.

currently tried to eliminated the bug that caused (probably) by my earlier Ninja patcher, since it's made some changes that didn't meant to be changed (probably due to bug in ninja)

Just so you know, the improvement part was just a joke, as the emoticon at the end of the line should imply. Tongue

I didn't mean your patch is terrible or something, it just uses a lot of abbreviations, which is a common thing on first releases. And on some official translations as well - Atelier Iris, I'm looking at you. And as I said, the fact that you're working on ToI is admirable by itself, and I hope to see a full translation released someday. Smiley

i was actually looking into it too. for some reason, repacking the ROM screws it up, and it will hang on the opening movie. this makes everything harder, because the easiest way to do this is to expand arm9.bin and then use all the extra space to fit everything in.

yup, my point exactly  Wink
i've tried every version i can get on ndstool to pack and unpack, but it still give me the same problem, the game always freeze at intro movie and there's no way around it Sad
this is the only specific game that i had problem with on packing process, other games i hacked  never got this kind of problem.

so i only left with the choice to edit the file in a whole rom.
about the matter or resizing arm9.bin isn't a problem actually, but the process, would take more caution and concentration at least ^_^
scrolling up and down, editing a whole 128MB file certainly quite stressful Smiley
and there's a little fear when i do that and the file exceed the original file size (128MB), could cause problem (which i don't really think so, but well...)

if anyone find / know a way or tool that can do the trick just right, please let me know Smiley

oh, and if anyone know action replay code to get all style's skill or style exp multiplier, it would be great Smiley
since i haven't got all style's skill (mostly my skill, in each char are at level 15-20), and on high level, kinda hard to level up style :| (i'm at level 60 now, hard as hell to level up style)

scratch my previous post Smiley
finally succed unpacking and then re-packing teh rom without causing error at movie intro.

could anyone please try this patch just to ensure it's run as it should be ?
the patch it self is the same as TOI-R02, nothing changed except the fact that i re-pack the rom and then created this patch.
if there's no other problem in this rom, i'll implement repointering on my next release Wink *damn happy coz teh repacking work ^_^

download : http://www.mediafire.com/?d2bwk2ncnmf
the outcome (patched nds file) should be 123 MB (129.917.564 bytes)
