I wonder, are we just being fed lies?  I heard that Funimation has bought the rights to dub it, but since then, I hadn't seem the Funimation site say nothing about it.  I haven't heard any recent news about it.  Frankly, it feels like people like playing with Tales fans expectations.

Maybe this is coming from being disheartened about what feels like lazy thinking on Bandai-Namco's part.  I mean, think about it.  If they did want to keep costs down, they could not dub they're games.  Like we Tales fans don't play games with japanese voices anyway.  Or hire fan translators, that would love to have the games they love in english, and would be willing to be flexible on the costs.

Oh, and take note.  The last time I heard anything on the Tales of the Abyss anime, Bandai-Namco said they would release it in the US as a subtitle only thing.  So if they DO release that, then why should they worry about hiring english voice actors for their games?

It's pretty typical for FUNimation to announce something, and then sit on it for a while. Their turnover time can often be a year or more.

That's no fun.  Well here's to hoping they get the original voice cast.  While the movie may not be flawless, it's still very good, and I am pretty eager to get the dvd.

Imagine how us US Layton fans felt, Eternal Diva came out in Europe in English October of 2010, and we were left waiting for awhile wondering if we'd even get a US release. Eventually they did announce a US release, and basically made us wait over a year from the release of the European version for the US version. The best part was the only difference between the European and US versions was that the US version was formatted for region 1 DVDs. They didn't do a new dub, add any special features, just charge you 20 dollars to watch something in your DVD player (the European dub has been online for a long time now for free)

Well, if anyone still cares, FUNimation solicited the release of this for May. No dub info yet, though.

Eh, who knows, Yuri might be on the other side. Looks more like a slip cover than a simple case

There's no doubt that Troy Baker has reprised his role. If Flynn isn't Sam Regal, he sounds pretty darn close. Rita doesn't really sound like Michelle Ruff, though. If Estelle's the one supposed to be narrating the start of the first clip, I'm not terribly certain if she's Danielle Judovits as I'm not terribly familiar with her voice. And I haven't played ToV in three years.

Everyone sounds off, Yuri and Flynn sound ehh while Rita and Estelle are for sure different voice actors. I'm watching my room mate play the game right now and comparing the clips to the gameplay is day and night.

Oh, that's Sam Regal alright.  I've got too many games with him in it that I constantly play.  In the 3rd .hack//G.U. game I could tell Silibus' voice wasn't right without even knowing Sam Regal wasn't in it.  I like guessing and figuring out what voice actor does what character since I was a child.

But in any case, I have absolutely no doubts now that I am buying the dvd.  Cheers to Funimation!

Rita is clearly not Michelle Ruff, but the new VA sounds similar enough that it's not jarring like the Menville->Beacock change for Lloyd was.
Troy Baker is definitely voicing Yuri, just listen closely and you'll hear his distinct voice.
I'm -pretty sure- that still Sam Riegel as Flynn, but he doesn't have enough lines in the scenes for me to say for sure! mikigirl18 sounds rather confident in this conclusion as well, so I'd assume that it's the case unless there's any strong evidence to the contrary.
I must doubt BassForever's claim that that's not Danielle Judovits playing Estelle as well! It sounds just like her to me!

Edit: I had the i and the e transposed in the name of Flynn's voice-actor.

Cast has been officially been revealed. It's an internal FUNimation dub, not an LA studio's. They must have flown in Troy and Sam. Rita = Luci Christian and Estelle = Cherami Leigh.
