Oh my.  That's wonderful!  Now I have two games I want for the PS3 and can (kind of) justify purchasing one!  Maybe...  I still have to consider my options I suppose.

EDIT: They list a new (unnamed) Tales game for the DS on the list as well.  Keep in mind that this is the 2008 game list.  Looking to truly be the year of Tales.  Wonder if we'll get that one localized as well.  They've got to be stretching the resources pretty thin at this point...

Not unexpected in the slightest. I guess the question that remains is... will the PS3 version be released in the US? The time is ripe, there are more JRPGs on even the X360 than the PS3 here.

Also, that suggests there's an unannounced Tales game in development for the DS as well.

The file on the Namco server has been updated and does no longer list PS3 as a platform for Vesperia.

Haha. Probably the same mistake they made when putting up the original website. But you know it's coming regardless. There's still a remote possibility that it was in error. But if they really wanted to make it a timed exclusive for 360, I wouldn't honestly expect it to be released on the PS3 until 2009.

When I saw that, I was really thinking that it was a typo, disregarding if it's true or not (You know, like what happened when they were trying to hide that Tales of Vesperia is going to be on the Xbox 360...at least the game starting there).  Looks like I was right.  Even then, I still think that a PS3 port will happen along the line.  I also thought having a PS3 port in 2008 is pretty unrealistic too.

There is, of course, a precedent that it won't be released.  I was always under the impression that Nintendo's contract with Symphonia was rather iron-clad.  I'm sure Namco would've liked to release the PS2 version (more money with not much extra work), but they were bound by contract.  Often times these contracts are now timed exclusives, meaning that we very well may get it, we just might have to wait.

...but, if I'm going to oppose myself, I'd have to say that the odds are low.  After all, the PS3 install base is rather small in the US, the 360 version was seen from the beginning as "for America".  Still, with all the build-up for this international release, I'd want to believe that they would release the PS3 version everywhere.  At this point, all we can do is discuss possibilities.

i'm pretty sure the main reason for getting a PS3 is still bluray, though. that, and computing farms for Folding@Home or whatever.

I think that Namco said it was a typo just because they didn't want people to know that it was being ported to the PS3 just yet. So, I think it will come to the PS3.
