Awesome. Looking forward to it. Hopefully they'll dub it (though that looks kind of unlikely, given the fact that Eternia and even Symphonia's animated adaptions were passed up). But, hey, Phantasia ended up here, so there's always some hope.

Cool. I wonder what the runtime will be? It sounds like they're adapting the game's story, but it'd be cool if it took place after the ending.

This is getting scary!

I was actually thinking about what it would be like to see a Tales feature film and Tales of Vesperia was the subject of that thought since that was, for me, the one that fits best for a feature film (I'm not kidding either).  Then suddenly, I see this!

Man, I'd love to see how this turns out, especially since Vesperia became a recent favorite installment for me.

Does this mean they're reading my mind about doing a Tales fighting game...and one step further...a crossover fighter with Tales going against a non-Namco Bandai RPG series...Tales Vs Final Fantasy?

It depends. They should know by now that you can't satisfactorily cram a whole game's worth of story into a 4 episode OVA, much less a 1.5 (more or less) hour film. Key word is should. Either way they don't have a whole lot of time to shove the game's story into. They haven't announced anything beyond that they're making a movie, so hopefully they have something creative in mind.

I have yet to be horribly disappointed with any tales ova Tongue the only tales animation that I felt really stunk was the eternia one. Even now the current abyss animation is pretty decent. I wouldn't call it amazing but it's pretty enjoyable.

Scroll wa-a-ay down for screens and art. Seems the movie is going to be some sort of prequel, judging by the title and the fact that Yuri's wearing Imperial armor. There's one new character who's some sort of red-headed female knight, and so far the confirmed game cast members are Yuri, Flynn, Estelle, Alexei, Raven, Rita, and Repede (as a puppy?). No sign of Judith or Karol yet.

October 3rd release.

Doesn't look too bad. Still not quite the level that I remember the in-game FMVs being, but I guess that's to be expected.

not really the animation matches the fmv's in my opinion I'd like to see a video trailer because screenshots aren't really a full indicator of animation quality. I'll be searching on youtube I guess.

Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike PV.

I'm not blown away by the animation quality, but at least it has GIANT ENEMY CRAB!

Thanks for the trailer all I could find were slide shows of screen shots I hate that bull. From the trailer I really do feel the animation quality is pretty much equal to fmv's of the game. It's not surprising since not only is this a movie it's animated by production I.G. Nothing to worry about in the animation department in my opinion. You all can come up with your own conclusion.
