Wow, the game looks absolutely gorgeous in those screenshots.

That little short-haired kid in some screens reminds me of common Japanese artistic renditions of Sun Wukong/Son Goku/Monkey King from the story "Journey to the West". That seems to be about where the similarities end, though. Ah well.

That or the guy who transcribed/translated the other interview boobooed. Or Mr. Yoshito doesn't know who his underlings are.
Well, there are scenario writer, and then there are script, skit and event editors. The scenario writer for ToS, TotA and ToSR is Takumi Miyajima. He's freelancer (like eg. Motoi Sakuraba) meaning he's not exclusive to Tales Studio (in fact he did the scenario to the PSP game Coded Soul most recently). The editors and Team Destiny scenario writers are internal Tales Studio staff though afaik, Mr Higuchi may refer to them.

i was thinking the same thing.  360 looks like it has the best rpgs out of the 3.  if i could play import ps2 games on the ps3, i might have leaned more towards that system, but alas, tis not to be.

Hands on preview, it reveals the names of some of the characters:

Check over in the images for first-ever English screens (new ones, too!)

I still need to buy one... I've been meaning to for a while, but I just need to scrape up enough to get one.

Real? Fake?

Don't know if want. I never really liked Utada outside of that kingdom hearts song, so maybe this could be a good thing for me.

EDIT: Supposedly the Japanese release date is July. I wonder if they'll do a ToV limited edition console pack. I may actually spring for that...

July, eh? That's... a lot earlier than I expected.

English Vesperia trailer:

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/32914.html

It's the same as the original Japanese one, except in English (besides the battle scenes). I really like the VA so far. I have a better initial impression of this game's VA than I did Abyss (which turned out very good in the end IMO).

I have to agree with Cless on the point of first impressions on the VA. Funny how they didn't dub the battle scenes. Flynn's VA sounds like Reid in Radiant Mythology.

An awesome pre-order bonus in America would be a gumi CD

The VA's gave a good first impression on me too.  Liking what I'm hearing (even with the undubbed battle footage).

EDIT: Supposedly the Japanese release date is July. I wonder if they'll do a ToV limited edition console pack. I may actually spring for that...

That's certainly one step further on my thing for a Tales of Vesperia faceplate.
