I actually got enough guts to do the Japanese account and thus, I have downloaded the Tales of Vesperia demo (you can end the chicken taunts now...but you pretty much figured I was messing around anyway).
I did get my butt handed to me by that boss, though. Playing it, it has a few things that bothered me from Abyss but this one feels like I can live with it (I still don't like the whole, "Earn the right to use items on someone else" but the AI here feels like I can live with it for some reason.).
I agree that it's not really loaded with content for a demo (I mean, the demo was about 230 MB and I've seen other demos for games like The Bourne Conspiracy be about 1.3 GB). I guess the game quality did make up for the lack of content for a demo. I was pretty excited to get a taste of a game and now I can't wait for the game in two months. I ended up walking to the Gamestop close to me and preordering it after motivation from the demo. Forget that there was a legendary Pokémon being given away there today! I was mainly there to preorder Tales of Vesperia (Okay! I did get that Pokémon but I was killing two birds with one stone and Tales of Vesperia preorder was my focus)!
Oh yeah, two things to add.
*I'm with gogs on Yuri's sword tossing acrobatics. It's sweet!
*To comment on a scene in the demo, "Wow! That was really mean, Rita! Are you going to be a jerk like that in the actual game?

Was watching this. Noticed Souhajin got translated to Azure Edge. Gonna borrow this for the ToD2 translation since it's more or less an official name now?

That's nothing new. That move was already in Radiant Mythology. And Soryurengazan is Dragon Swarm again. :|
That said, Majinken Dog Edition jumps back to ToE for inspiration with SONIC DOG. Did they think "Demon Dog" or something had some excessively negative connotations towards Repede or something?

No worries! I saw Sonic and thought it's probably Shunjinken~
Shadow Fang might be Tenroujinga... Hell Hound's a GurenDOG animation..
There's Demon Dog Rush too.. Majinken extension?

Sonic Dog is at the top of his list, and since Demon Fang/Fist is traditionally there, I assumed the worst. I don't remember the effect of the attack, so I'll have to play the demo again soon. Here's hoping!

Hi-ougis, surprise encounters (lol "surprise encount", didn't learn their lesson from Abyss JP), gigantic monsters, skits, and attachments detailed. Now with more ways than ever to make your characters look silly.
I really wish they'd move away from the Symphonia/ Abyss style skits and pull Team Destiny style skits.

Pretty sure Sonic Dog was just a weird tackle attack thing.

(lol "surprise encount", didn't learn their lesson from Phantasia SNES)
Fixed... it's really been like that forever.

Another fix'd.
Interesting that Estelle has Philia's hiougi. I thought those things were supposed to be unique. I can't call any previous reuse. Maybe Philia has a cameo. Seems like a huge stretch though.
Speaking of that, I really, really, really hope there's a cameo fight. Since they're putting this as an international release, perhaps maybe they could put Symphonia, Legendia, and Abyss characters in it. I'd be down with a Tear/Jade/Chloe/Kratos fight (not reusing any characters that have appeared in cameo battles or playable in Radiant Mythology). Healer, Spellcaster, two fighters. I guess if you must have an archer, replace Tear with Natalia, Kratos with Raine, and Chloe with Jay. (two males, two females)
EDIT: I guess if you include Phantasia and include RM playables... Then Chester, Jade, Chloe and Raine.

OH NOES! Sacred PENANCE! (blame..)
Next thing is seeing Majin rengokusatsu in ToV and I will kill Namco for reusals!!
Anyways I LOVE HOW THIS GAME IS LOOKIGN AND SOUNDING! The voices are by far better than what I expected!!!!!!
The most awesome thing is that the characters seem a lot smarter when controlled by AI and the SE are ... a let down... I liked abyss s more... specially the menu one
I do think they should move to the full body skits too :S

this, this, this, THIS, THIS. why? why, team symphonia? are you that dense?
let's keep in mind we're now easily two entire generations away from ToP PSX... and that team destiny moved away from it starting with the PS2 era.

There should be a cameo....I would say that every main installment had one, but Legendia kinda didnt.

IIRC Destiny 2 PS2 and Rebirth didn't either. I guess Kratos is somewhere in Destiny PS2 but not in a battle...

Yeah, I almost forgot(plus havent played rebirth or destiny 2). Still, you'd think they'd put one in, especially for a "next gen" type game. Also would get other people's attention of the other tales, since they are aiming for a bigger audience....right?
Actually, now that I think about it, Destiny 2 did have a Rutee, Philia, Garr, and Rimle collessuem fight, didnt it?

It seems likely Vesperia will have a cameo fight. I'm not saying that this is significant support but since ToP-PSX, all Tales with Fujishima designs had cameo fights.

In the PSP version, where (to my knowledge) they borrowed the sprites from ToDr.

Yay, your right. Didn't realize that but yeah...hmm, that would mean TOS2 won't have a cameo
But anything now is just conjecture....

They did, and they look a little bit crappier imo.....so it was only psp then, ah.
