Two things i noticed, the edge of the battle is underlined, the battle is WAY faster than ToA specially when they are finishing an enemy, and that mages cast hella fast... Cheesy

If I remember correctly there's some way you can make a Japanese XBL account and download stuff from the Japanese marketplace, including demos. I seem to remember people doing that with Eternal Sonata.

Unless there's some new method since last I heard about it, Microsoft did something about it.

Hmm.. that's about a month before Eternal Sonata was released in Japan. I'm not sure when the demo came out though...

The only region-locked demos that I know of are Ninja Gaiden II JP (initially region-free, it was locked several hours after its release) and Operation Darkness JP (locked from the get-go, I think).

These two gave a "You can't download this item from your current location" error.

All the other demos are region-free, though some require a Gold membership to be downloaded in the first days following their release.

We could consider ourselves EXTREMELY unlucky if Vesperia's demo was to be locked, but it may happen.

hi-ougis without cut-ins? not added yet? i'd appreciate a little less flair

According to some random commenters on youtube, those weren't hi-ougis.  They said that hi-ougis are done when a character uses overlimit lv.3 (in the video they used lv.2 or 1) which may explain the lack of cut-ins. =)

i'm not sure what's with the random, sudden camera angle changes and the abundance of moves where they rush into/through the enemy.

additionally, am i the only one who feels like they should get rid of the "lol i can hit the enemy 7 times in a row with my normal attack" thing? they should either vary the attacks you can do more or cut down on the number of normal attacks per chain, down to a maximum of three. i sort of feel like it's silly when you can just keep slashing over and over forever, and then you have to use TP for something like tiger blade. hell, eternia limited this somewhat even within its three, as you can only do certain combinations of attacks instead of just mashing the X button. and even three attacks was only limited to reid; most other people got two, i think.

having each normal attack consume something (like SP, or CC, or something) would also work, so it doesn't just feel like you should be obligated to start every chain by mashing the X button over and over. not having each hit add 1 TP would help, too.

I love chaining 7-6 attacks myself though

I'd rather the attacks be unique more than anything.

"Another addition are special attacks that defeat non-boss enemies with a single blow if special button combinations are timed correctly." (from wikipedia)

I'm quite sure that's what the whole camera shift is all about.

As for the whole "chain 7 normal attacks in a row" thing... it doesn't apply to normal attacks in any Tales game I know except Abyss.  But you still had to earn it through capacity cores Wink

In that one Vesperia battle sequence, you did see Yuri do the 7-chain thing but that's probably because of this "Burst Arte" system...

"To perform it, players must initially be in Overlimit Mode. Then they must perform a regular Arcane Arte. Once this' fulfilled, you'll see a green bar. (underneath the player's avatar picture). This tells how much time you have left while using a Burst Arte and performing combos depending on the Overlimit level. The amount of time increases, allowing you to add in more combos. And like with previous Tales games, players will get to pull off powerful hi-ougis." (from wikipedia)

Edit: More random footage? http://youtube.com/watch?v=LrnofmUXtF0 (1:03 to 1:46.. everything else is talking)

It seems the demo could be on the Japanese marketplace in less than two hours. I hope I can play. I just made a Japanese Live account.
