Now that I got the Ninja Turtles quote out there, I have to say, "This is great!"  My waiting game actually paid off and I was so close to importing the game.  At least that Tales of Legendia teaser on the back of the manual actually did mean something.

Now the only thing I need to do is clear my head out.

Half of me says YES because of the TOL Manual and stuff. The other half says NO because it's just too unbelievable.

Deep down I still had a feeling. The ToL manual teaser, and some subtle hints being left by the localization producer.

The sales figures started to worry me though, with Phantasia's abysmal (pun not intended...) results bolstering that.

I did have a feeling that Abyss was coming despite whatever happened with Legendia. But the damned naysayers attained great pleasure with striking down any optimism and speculation with Thor's hammer. Now I'm glad to have "pwned" them.

As this shows that Tales are having a good acceptance at this side of the pacific, I hope (oh, i'm so foolish) they put a little more effort in translation and dubbing this time ( For God's sake, no more INDI-gNEIshon, please!!)

Symphonia and Legendia had far more competent localizations than Phantasia GBA did, voiceovers included.

Yes, I saw the same exact article and was going to rush here and announce it... alas the early bird got the worm which is by no means any sort of disappointment to me.

Anyway I am happy that this game is coming here. Looking at Namco's recent track record of Tales games and their localizations (we shall not speak of ToP-GBA), I am looking forward to it. The only thing that irks me is a few naming choices... strike artes, fonic artes... I just never liked the word arts with an e...

Also field of fonons... They could of just kept it as fonimes... I'm glad they didn't try to correct the spelling to phonemes... FOP can be easily twisted to sound dirty...

The article made it sound like Mieu was usable in battle, though not directly...

Other than the great Japanese voice cast, the only thing I'll miss is Karma : (
Hopefully the don't take out the instrumental versions of Karma like they did with Starry Heavens in Symphonia, but it won't suprise me if they do.

That's something I'm at least I don't have to worry about.  Namco has proven they are able to do the localization right (though I'm not going to speak about Tales of Phantasia GBA) and I'm sure they're going to do a good job.

Hmm... Fonon(Phonon) does seem to fit in. TOA has a lot of reference regarding sound/vibration/tone like Choushindou and for example.

Fujiwara Motoo(The vocalist for BoC) composed the Karma instrumentals and Lorelei's Song. Maybe Namco might asked him to make the Instrumental Song for the US Opening. >_>;

Speaking of Lorelei, they better give a good VA for Tear.

They did really great with the Bantam Bouncers in ToL. I have faith.

Yes, although the Bouncers' songs were a bit cheesy at first, I couldn't help but like it. I think they might keep the Tone Songs the way they are. I don't see much reason to change it. They'll probably find a voice actor that sounds similar enough to the Japanese voice actor (see Taki in Soul Calibur II and listen to her shrieking in both Japanese and English voice tracks to hear what I mean).

I'm hesitant about setting expectations for the localization quality. Fuzzy is incredibly dedicated (shrimp!), so I have faith he'll do the best conceivable job with what he has, but after the crappy sales of ToL (and ToP), I have a feeling he'll have to fight with an insufficiant budget, despite his anti-cut campaign. Is it crazy to hope for voiced skits? Or at least reprogrammed skits should the case be that they are not voiced?

I was expecting it. Originally I wasn't, but it was looking more and more likely. Probably about as high as expectations could be without violating the "Never ever assume a Tales will come to America" rule.
