No fetch quests like in ND2+3 and RM1+2, right?
There's a few optional ones, but as far as I can remember, nothing mandatory. It's been quite a few years since I last played it, though. Ahh, Petit LiMBS, you were so adorable.

Okay, back on topic. I'm curious as to whether or not they'll make any significant changes to Phantasia, like getting rid of the spell lag or adding mystic arte cut-ins.

Uh.

Anyway, I'm kinda irritated by the different HUD and graphics of ToP in there. Are they seriously rehashing a game with the same graphics and stuff that's been released on the same platform already? Come on. If they would've kept the system from the main game (Narikiri dungeon remake) and finally reimagined ToP, that would've actually been awesome, but this just seems tacked on and cheap.

I used to come around this board a lot back in 2002 and 2003.  There was a forum user who had a site detailing the jobs and enemies from the original GBC Narikiri.  I do not remember that useres name, but his avatar was an animated 8-bit gif of a small spinning character.  Does anybody remember what I am referring to?  Is this page still in existence?

Ah yes.  ChangeV.  I know who you're talking about.

In fact, his site is still up.

And I better follow the Simpsons motto and "Quit while I'm ahead" before I start talking about the past.

Yes that is the site.  Thanks for the link.

I forgot that the original Narikiri had the Tower of Druaga.

That happened a loooooooooooooooong time ago. Though, PSP is on a bit of a stand still after the PSP firmware updates ran past the hackers, so a lot of new releases wont work on a CFW enabled PSP (which again means that games with altered content wont play.)

About time ND's getting one...
I was hoping for a break from Tales games for awhile, but I guess that's impossible. At least it's a remake that's worth it, and not say...another Versus game.

I'll definitely be checking this one out. The ToP:FVE fixes also have me very interested.

How about this time give the other character Hi-ouji instead of Cless being the only one that has it.

Teaser for official site is up now:
http://topndx.namco-ch.net/

Liking the remake of the music track from ND1 on there (the first one, the other two we already know are from ToP originally).

For ToP, it seems we're getting new sprites again, and ones that probably won't be forwards compatible with older versions. FVE sprites vs. blown up scan.

Mint's using a casting animation (just before it's complete, it seems). Her staff is horizontal (in ToP PSX/PSP, she just raises it instead of using it as a walking stick), the lower part of her outfit is raised, and her foot looks larger. It's more difficult to tell with the others, but something about Arche seems incredibly different, too.

So...I've got the impression they're at least overhauling the whole sprite and animation system. Perhaps the sprites are being PROPERLY redrawn for the PSP's screen resolution instead of being stretched. If that's the case, they should be pretty darn nice to look at.

Also worth noting is that the text at the top seems to at least imply a menu overhaul as well. I have no idea what's going on the lower right, but it looks a little better than the ugly red window used in the original FVE.
