Hey guys,

Most of what I heard, when it came out, was that it's not all that worth getting if you have the original remake.  I've seen only a few battle videos exclusive to Leon's side, namely when he fights the Swordian Team in that cave.  That battle did not impress me at all, since the AI for it seems absolutely horrible.

However, Leon's side of the story sounds cool.  And the new skills are a new addition.  Apparently the battle system got upgraded too?

Seeing as it's $65 on Play-Asia right now, I don't think I'd be willing to dish out that money based on my current opinion.  Then again, I don't know too much about it.  Perhaps it'll drop a little in price soon and if it's worth it I'll get it.

What do you guys think?

I think it's the only legal way to enjoy the upcoming Phantasian Productions+AbsoluteZero ToDr:DC translation, since they're translating this game and not the aforementioned remake without the Directors Cut portion; so , if $65 for that is too much for the only supported product in the translation... I don't know what would be worth the purchase then, basically. (This is coming from a legal-tard when it comes to games and entertainment software just the same)

Personally, I thought full price for this game was only worth it if you're getting the full L.E. box set.
I'd be amazed if you can't get it for half-price somehow somewhere. It's a rather pricy upgrade for "so little" extra.

But as pedro says, you'll certainly need it if you want to play the upcoming translation project.

I'm a stickler for buying the actual games as opposed to downloading them, so it's not a worry for anyone that I'll be using an illegal copy to play the translation patch, if I do.

I wasn't really asking about the translation project.  While it would be nice to be able to play it in the language I know best, I know enough Japanese to get about 80% of the text, so it's not a huge issue.

Could you comment more on the game itself?

On the game itself AFAIK you're completely right (although I don't know my way around in Japanese for either games); it's only "worth it" for leon's side, or at least I for one wouldn't consider replaying the main quest just for those minor addictions at place. (and I'm sorry if I sounded too much of a snob in my first reply too)

I bought it cheaper than that price back when Play-Asia did some week promotion on the item shorty after the release, you might wait for that to happen, although we don't know when and "if" it'll happen.

Also seeing you seem to know some Japanese you could go to yahoo auctions japan and either buy one from someone who ships overseas or try to convince some guy to send overseas, as I'm pretty sure you're bound to find better prices there.

Oh, and reading what Carnivol wrote, yeah, I'd say it's only worth buying with the whole collectors edition pack thing, the artbook, hardcase, Soundtrack and game.

oh wow, it's $65 now? when i purchased it from Play Asia it was only $28. well, i would say no for the price of $65, but MAYBE for the price i got it. also, i personally think that the box art for this game is HORRIBLE, i liked the original remake's boxart better. anyways, you get new skills (and a new blast calibur) and equipment. also you can hold ALOT more lens material. there is also a new battle arena mode that is probably the BEST addition of the whole thing.
