You're complaining about battles in ToD1 getting cancelled? If that game didn't have so many random battles, it wouldn't even need the remake.  Smiley

Seriously though, bad disc maybe?

yea probably the disc...but the thing is that it isn't only the random battles, it can be anyone, including bosses, it automatically beats them, without giving me Exp, Gald, Lenses or anything. that's the problem

You can win it, but it means an early Game Over. You're supposed to lose that battle so the storyline can continue.

Yeah, that was a weird optional win battle. Most optional wins give you good items and a small difference in story... Leon's battle gave you a big change in story and just ended the game... I guess they felt if you're strong enough to defeat him at that point, you're too good for the rest of the game or something o_O

Obviously, it's not worth it to win this optional win... If you want to know what happened if you beat Leon, but never did it, it's here:

I had that same glitch on mine, except it only cancelled the battles about 1% of the time. This was a problem on scripted battles though, because I'd get a Game Over if the bug triggered on a scripted battle.

The bug is that the game does the encounter effect and the screen goes black like it's loading a ballte, and then it just returns to the map you were on and allows you to move again, as if the battle never happened.

The bug only happened on the burned copy of the game I made to get past a scratch on my disc that caused one of the later world maps, with destroyed land, to not be able to load because the PS1 couldn't read those sectors of the disc but my computer could.

yea well, my version is burned too, i copied it from an already burned one, but my friend told me it never happened to him...but anyways...i think it's ok now cuz i played today, and it didn't happen even one time, i hope it'll stay like this Cheesy

(it's burned cuz i never knew before that it was out here)

Check for any scratches on you disk then. A single scratch is enough to make anything unplayable you know.
