Looks like they are using the games main plot. Looks good. I'm glad they're not going the tales of eternia route for story and animation.

Well it's not an OVA, it's an actual 26 ep (maybe 52 ep?) tv series

Oh sorry, thats right!
Its great they go until 26 eps, yet it would be great if they extend it, and only the first 26 eps are before the OMG PLOTERRISH scene.
And then other 50 something eps appear, that way they would cover the game with more ease, I mean 26 eps are too lil for a so long game...

Umm truthfully back then I thought 26 episode of an anime would be too short, honestly it not. They can cover mostly everything, some story I doubt they even need to even add in. But i say if they going to do a 52 episode Tales I would suggest TOD and TOD2

ToD2 is TOO short for even 26 episodes, the story is very very short

I am SO excited about this anime. The animation is gorgeous, and Tear's fonic hymn spell looked sweet. More detail, like in the hair was enphasized than even in the game. I love it!

Not really? But yea your right about 52 for TOD and TOD2
, I think they could of pulled a 52 for TOP though but it was a shame it only 4 OVAs T_T

That's for sure. It was so crammed together, that you hardly got any plot at all. Bubblegum Crisis is a good example of OVA, or maybe Tenchi Muyo. Bubblegum Crisis was 8 episodes long, but it still managed to give a good story without it feeling super rushed.

ToD2 has a very short story.
The first quarter is veeeery slow, then on the future you dont do much, when you return you inmediatly are brought back to a parallel world were you dont do much (though you know there what elraine is trying to do), then you go to the war past (I think this is the bigger/best part of the story for an anime) which is pretty decent, after that you get to go to Stahns timeline, and after returning you know that the world is being destroyed, you go to the future and get the awesomemish plot twist (woah the plot is moving).
After that you go and kick ass elraine.
The story is pretty short, its too much travelling IMO, the game´s story advances very fast on some parts, while on anothers its pure travelling.
Personally, the plot isnt bad, but its execution was... meh, they changed it completely from what it started like, which I didnt like.
Still the gameplay, the REALLY awesome boss battles and the sidequests and the top notch system, make it an awesome game.
(though they still needed a good Dylmos vs barbatos fight XD)
