I never really pay attention to any of the battle arenas. Personal fave would be the ToP one though sicne it had Lilith ^_^
The other choice would be the one in Nakiri Dungeon 3. I'm not a big fan on spin offs but the battle arena was cool how you got to fight all the protagonists of the series and then fight... Lilith ^_^
The best part was you get to play as her after you defeat her... sorta.

I think Symphonia had the most rounded out arena personally.

I liked TotA's. It had a big, crumbling dent in it like someone hit it with a heavy weapon, or something.

^Huh? I'm not sure what you just said... All I gathered was that you hate Symphonia and like Destiny and Destiny 2 (though you didn't indicate whether you actually meant Destiny 2 or Eternia). And I'm not really sure your post had anything to do with the topic either... Anyway...
Of the games I've played (though that certainly isn't all of them), I think I enjoyed Phantasia's the most.
Abyss' was a bit too easy, Legendia's just didn't have enough to it, Symphonia was nice, but still pretty easy with most characters. Phantasia just had a good challenge to it I felt. The standard Arena boss was a good challenge, plus when you throw in the special battles like Lilith and the Ninja subquest event, it was just awesome stuff. I haven't played Eternia yet, and I'm still a long way from the arena in Destiny. So we shall see, perhaps my opinion will change.

Yes, well, surprise surprise, I thought Symphonia was okay, and I really don't like Tales of Destiny 2, yet I like Tales of Destiny 1! Oh nos!
Anywho, my favorite Arena would prooobably be a mix of Eternia's (because..we totally need a Cameo Fight that's limited to being a duel) and well..Abyss' 4 character cameo fight I suppose >_>;

The arena for Phantasia was great, simply because it was the first Tales arena. Also the enemies were challenging, plus it's nice how it ties into the ninja sub-event. I haven't played the PS1 version yet, but that Lilith fight sounds real nice.
The arena in Destiny wasn't too good. It was all generic enemies and it was a test of patience more than anything else.
Haven't got up to Eternia's arena but the Cless fight sounds worth it. Haven't got up to Destiny 2's arena either.
Symphonia's was okay, but the balance was somewhat bad. It was cake with Lloyd and some of the other melee fighters, but had with Raine and how she only has at most two offensive spells... Genis could get killed fast even with Concentrate... Sheena was hard because she doesn't really have many good techs and most of them were the same thing with different status effects... Presea and Regal were somewhat challenging since they're slower but I actually had fun with Regal since he could spell cancel with Healer. In fact, it was too easy with Colette, Regal, and Sheena when you spell cancel. The one good thing was the cameo fight, it was nice to see old faces.
I didn't get to Legendia's arena yet, but it looked generic to me from vids I've seen. Even the special fights weren't too interesting.
Haven't gotten to Abyss' arena but it looked like a good balance of challenge from what I've seen. The Tales fight also seems to be pretty difficult but good. I've played a little with my friend on his file, playing party matches (as opposed to singles). He was hoping you could fight the Tales team a second time which was why we were playing it in the first place, but I had a feeling it would be like Symphonia and you couldn't do it twice.
Narikiri Dungeon 3 was nice just because you could fight the Tales heroes, but it was still a bit easy...
Oh, I don't recall if I ever heard of an arena for Rebirth... I haven't touched the game for a long time, so I haven't gotten far.

The cameo fight is by far the best part of the Abyss arena. And it actually does provide a decent challenge, though the cameo battles always do. But man, playing with the spell-casters in Abyss versus how I remember it being with Genis and Raine in Symphonia, it's amazing how much improvement they've made. There really isn't a character that doesn't play well in Abyss.

For Abyss, they made it viable to use a character that is usually a spellcaster for melee if needed. Tear and Jade have melee techs unlike Genis and Raine, which is the one thing that makes it easier to defend youself in the arena. Free run doesn't hurt either. Also the smaller amount of playable characters made it a bit more necessary to give the spell casters some melee techs since there wouldn't be enough meat shields, plus the new focus on free run makes it easier for enemies to get to you and vice versa.

I liked ToD2's because you don't have to pay. XDDD Though coliseum entries are usually fairly cheap. Also, fighting Rimlu was so fun.
