Okay, so Nintendo is currently dropping megaton bombs at a massive Wii conference right now. And even though I'm at my mom's house I wouldn't want to miss this for the world.

Anyway, this is a title coming from Namco Bandai, and one would presume it's somehow connected to Tales of Legendia. Nobody knows anything about it, but it's apparently on the Wii software lineup, here.

If true that would be the first Tales game without the "Tales" name in it. So it's now the "of" series? =P

Btw. Yoshidumi (吉積 信) is featured in the Wii developer interviews video (remember he was the one main Namco producer for all games by Tales Studio since Destiny 2, ToP:FVE lists him as executive producer).

Tales or not, it does sound like it would be a sweet game. Does anyone have any info/screenshots of this game?

Well, supposedly Nintendo is claiming the Wii will be region free, but developers will have the option of region locking their games, meaning the console isn't truly regionless if it can still enforce a region lock. Xbox and Xbox 360 are already the same in function, where games can be regionless if the developer wants them to be, and we've seen how many of the games on those consoles have been region locked... Still, that means there could be a chance to play this game without needing an imported or modified console.

At least Nintendo is saying all of the games they develop will be released without region locks.

Nintendo UK officially said this was an error and that the console should be region locked.

So now, we have NOA who claim that the Wii is region-free and NOE who claims NOA is wrong. Screw you Nintendo >_>

With the system being at 175€ in Japan, a little more than 200 in the US, and 250 in Europe, I seriousely hope than NOE is damn wrong.

I don't have much to add, you've pretty much echoed my sentiments for this day.

Veering slightly offtopic:
I do feel there are a few nagging questions left unanswered, such as whether the PAL console/software will fully support Progressive Scan this time, or even if it'll still support RGB Scart. The omission of those would be the last straw (then I'd probably just import one instead - although it might mean missing out on its online features Undecided).

I'm unsure if I'll buy one at launch now but I have placed a preorder for the time being anyway.

That makes it seem as if the game will be based around Chloe...

In other worses Nintendo or Europe don't like us PAL region gamers and are going to force region locks on the PAL releases. Bloody hell.

HA! I knew there'd be another game in the series following Legendia. Nonetheless, I'm surprised it's for Wii. I honestly expected that the series would remain exclusive to the PlayStation 3 this gen. Even though it doesn't have "Tales" in its name, I'll be sure to get it, whether I have to mod me Wii or not. I just hope there's more depth and customization this time around. *is shot*

Something else I'm wondering... maybe they're doing this to test out the Wii's popularity with the Tales series? Sure, this isn't necessarily part of the main series, but if I were a developer over there, I'd be listening to what the consumers are thinking. And from what I'm hearing, the Wii's getting a lot of hype over in Japan. Maybe if this goes over well they'll be a title in the main series on Wii.

Also, I found the attatched pic floating around on the official Tales forums...

I personally feel that Sword of Legendia will be to Tales of Legendia as Tales of Symphonia was to Phantasia in terms of relationship.  Different characters/time period but same world...

Im not that surprised really because the wii is actually getting quite alot of attention recently and lots of developers are trying to get there foot in the door to what most believe to be the future of gaming! And its not exacly unheard of with Symphonia being orignally for the GC. That and the Wii is a better console than the PS3! LOL
