EDIT: ToD PS2 is real, nothing on Tales of the Voice. A new thread has been made regarding the new annoucnements here.

===================================================================

Gamefront.de reports that the latest Weekly Jump (should be coming out soon) apprently contains an article revealing a Tales of Destiny 1 PS2 remake and a new title; Tales of the Voice (platform not disclosed. Personally guessing a DS or Wii game based on its title).

It'd be nice if it were true. I'm not a big fan of ToD but this could be their chance to make it awesome in my eyes.

If this rumors are true, I'll be so happy.  A remake of Tales of Destiny is just what I want (though I'd prefer to see it in Tales of Destiny 2 style).  Though we'll have to wait and see.

Where the rumor originated (2ch, apparently) it is stating that the Destiny remake would be in full 3D.

Still, we'll just have to wait and see. Lilith better be playable!

Its good that the remake is in 3d, if abyss sells good then we would have a higher chance to get it to NA. Thats only if there really is a remake........I cant imagine why they would make a remake of a game like ToD, its not bad but its not good either, still the PS2 version could offer much more for the game maker, maybe they werent satisfied enough with the psx version.

I had Grad Night until 3:30 AM, woke up about an hour ago... this is a fun thing to wake up to...

Hmm, what I wonder is why PS2? If they are making it and planning for a PS2 release, they must have started on this after Abyss was finished, otherwise it would not be PS2... also they have their hands tied with Tempest... If they're barely starting it now, then it would be hard to get it to sell well, especially with PS3 looming on the horizon. PS3 would kill sales for this unless ToD comes out in a month or so. Even with backwards compatability, most people will be too poor after getting a PS3 to buy this unless it was a budget title by some odd chance...

A Tales of Destiny 1 remake? Man, a dream come true indeed. I really enjoyed the original, and kept wishing they'd have allowed Lilith to be legally-recruitable.

I feel kinda' bad now that I'm hoping the PS3 won't live up to the hype, just so a ToD1 PS2 remake has better chances of coming to english-speaking shores if TotA does well. Tales of the Voice sounds like a microphone-based game for either the DS or PS2 (Singstar Tales?! x_X), it sounds... Well, I'll keep my opinion to myself for now since I shouldn't make any more assumptions yet.

Oh, and welcome back, Kuresu. Cheesy

I'll keep my hopes down until Tuesday even if I'm a TOD fan. I'm just wondering what kind of new stuff they're going to put aside from Lyris being playable or actually see Loni and his buddies in Cresta.

Tales of the voice sounds like a game of a group of singers, the hero wants to protect the girl with the mysterious voice, who is the last hope for the world. Well thats the game in a cliche way like almost every other rpg.

Heh, I wouldn't put it past Namco to do something like that, but I'm sure they'll be more creative in the execution even if they do.

YES! Finally someone else who also prefers that spelling of her name! I was almost going to include it in my post but ended up too reluctant to do so.

Anyways, I'm hoping there'll be scans of the Weekly Jump coming out soon. Hopefully within the next 12-18 hours, sooner if we're lucky. Need confirmation.

In terms of story they could probably go more in-depth on a few things, add difficulty settings, a Collector/Monster Zuukan, titles, add  some actual bosses instead of just regular enemies for a good portion of the game, add a 0 or two at the end of Miktran's HP, make Miktran not a sitting duck, add a Grade Shop...I could go on and on with possible additions

The main reason I'd want to see a remake is because ToP got quite a nice one

also they have their hands tied with Tempest...
With its sloppy management (early announcement, then unlimited delays), the report that Jun Toyoda (Legendia producer) is producing it and the fact that it never appeared on Tales Studio's website (while all other games got added there once they were officially announced) I'm pretty sure that Tempest (like Legendia) is done by an internal Namco team. On the other hand Tales Studio has done one port per year, so this year's port is already late. The only last gen Tales game not haven gotten a port treatment yet is Destiny so it's easy to see how such a rumor can be created.

I should've  added this to my last post but...is Lyris the official name because the only other times I've seen that spelling were when I babelfish'd a Destiny/2 page...I've seen Lilith everywhere else

I have to admit,it would be nice to see ToD remade, since it was my first Tales game, and is memorable to me.

I would rather see ToD2 brought here the most, but ToD being remade is always nice too.
