Just as all mainline Fujishima games have received anime in recent times, I wouldn't be too surprised.
But will it be another OVA, or a TV series? The OVAs have never been long enough to tell the stories adequately, and ToE's TV series was just a sidequest.
I guess I'd rather take a mid-high budget OVA that focuses on eye candy (ToS/ToP) more than a side-story with mediocre animation that turns absolutely AWFUL during the last several episodes (ToE).
There's also Namco's further track record with TV series anime... Xenosaga... it seemed terrible from what I saw of the first episode. Xenosaga had a lot of potential to be better in anime form than game, too.

There was a Xenosaga?
My bro would certainly like to see a Xenogears anime ... I think. XD Or an anime based on what is in the Xenogears Perfect Works and stuff ...
Not surprised either ~
...
Did ToS anime really stop at four eppies? >_> ....

ToS would count as an OVA.
I hear they're going for a full count with Abyss, AKA 26/52 episode count. >>;
And Hoa, the Xenosaga anime was kinda shoddy IMO and apparently only covered part of ep 1, so to speak.

Even 26 might not be enough to tell the whole ToA story without compressing it significantly. 39 might work, 52 would probably be ideal. Whatever they end up doing, I hope it at least looks better than ToE did.
It'd be really nice if this was to be followed with an Abyss Director's Cut on the Wii or something with all of its technical issues ironed out. And then released in the US...

I'd look forward to it if it looked fun.

nah, i think 26 is probably enough. 39 definitely, imo. depends on how much fluff there is, how exactly they adhere to every niggling detail, etc.

Er, yes. What I mean is, did they really only plan on the Sylvarant part? No news for the Tethe'Alla part?

But I want new games with effort, arghhhh... not part time enhanced ports.
And speaking of which (offtopic)... are they actually releasing a sequel to ToS with ToS out of print? that's bullocks.
I have ironed out the technical issues, most of them anyway, PS2+HDD gaming ftw. no more loadings before and after battles. Sure 60 frames, 16:9 and enhanced whatever could be cool and all that, but only is that's not the only thing coming, been there done that, I won't hype myself for scraps; if it's a extra... sure, they can have my money, otherwise it's not okay, it's milking.

Resident Evil 4 is amazing.

Atlus must infuriate you.

Loading in and out of battles in dungeons, and into battles on the world map was already transparent from disc. It's the world map loading and performance that sucks. HDLoader only shaves off 1/3 of it because the game has to be run in a slow access mode to be compatible.

It's sad that the tenth anniversary game had to be rushed to meet its deadline. I'd be there day one if I could get Abyss the way it should have been. It deserves a second chance here anyhow.

Indeed, but that doesn't serve as a substitute for a new RE, thus... it is only worth it to be ported (or adapted in this case, already ran in that architecture to start with) to warrant new games, not to warrant more ports. if so, that's a disrespect.

Quite the contrary, they actually put stuff in print again once in a while; SMT3 Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga for example, there was a new print of them like... 2 months ago?
They're inteligent to do that while riding on the Persona 3 hype and all that. They addressed the demand.

I use toxicOS, in UDMA and Mode 1 and the world map loadings are simply gone. I don't even get that black screen between now (before and after battles in the worldmap if I recall correctly), it doesn't even appear anymore.
World map performance still sucks though. 15 frames/s'ish

I just want new games actually; been there done that.
It's like with remakes I rather have a new game... And I think I deserve one too. they're free to do whatever they want in their spare time with their spare teams, just don't flood me with just they spare time jobs.

if they could provide a tweaked version of abyss with the following features, it would be approximately 100x better.
- shorter load times.
- less backtracking/town-hopping/fetch questing in the late game. maybe put that section of the game on rails, xenogears style. or at least let you teleport later in the game from town to town without ever having to see the world map, instead of having to exit town, get in the albiore, teleport, land, and go into town.
- speaking of which, a non-laggy, non-ludicrous load times world map.
- less broken free run.
- better AI. none of that slowly walking backwards thing, and perhaps the AI should even actively try to dodge spells.
- possibly a point cost attached to each AD skill, requiring that you carefully choose which of the really really good ones you really want. the ones that aren't considered broken should have a low (almost negligible) point cost.

For me, RE4 Wii was fanservice of high order. And it retailed for less than the average new game. It was worth every penny and then some.
I'll give you RE0, though.

Those went out of print 3-4 years ago and had been fetching $80-$120 on eBay. Pre-owned. ToS isn't even remotely close to that.
Meanwhile, Etrian Odyssey 2 just came out and the price for the first one continues to rise in the second-hand market and has already surpassed the original MSRP.

I have enough games piled onto my backlog to last me for years and years. I can't say I oppose being able to obtain a superior version of a favorite for a future replay.

Yes, but then again so would a ToS repackaging not be that bad, since Wii being a upgraded gamecube... it runs the native code just fine with enhancements dropped in. (not requiring actual porting) Even RE0 it's not all that bad if it's a means to stay in print (it's my favorite classic RE)... what the public is tired is getting ports and/or crappy spin-off's and nothing new "going all out" on the franchise, we're not second rate customers, neither are we their "greatest old hits" line nor their garbage bin.
RE4 was welcomed only because REUC was coming, RE0 was booed because everyone is expecting a new RE now, RE0 can come whenever, but coming alone it's insulting. Just that.

I live in Europe... Digital Devil Saga I've seen Digital Devil Saga new and sealed selling for a dime. Sure, it doesn't bring the OST, but... yeah. (my Digital Devil Saga 2 brings a OST though)
Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne too got it pretty cheap and still sells pretty cheap. I'm more worried about tracking down Persona 1 and 2 one day though.

Really need to get Etrian Odyseey then.

Me neither, but I find it disrespectful as a client if that's all I'm getting.

AD skill system is meant for uberness IMO :p They are already pretty tough to get unless you put tutti in
