So I'm working on getting my last title in ToDr. It's Leon's 一騎当千 (currently translated as One-Man Army for the curious), which you get for clearing the Rank 6 arena. That, of course, requires beating all of the bosses. As recent posts on this forum might have indicated, I'm not all that skilled when it comes to playing Tales games.

Now, believe it or not, I managed to make it to Barbatos. He kicked me in the face and made me his bitch before I really worked out a strategy, but I'm fairly confident that I could reach him again. Still, there's no point in doing that unless I know I'm going to win. So I'm looking for any strategies for simple, chainable combos for Leon. The first time, I was using Demon's Lance Zero to break through his guard and then assaulting him with Majinken -> Souga. That worked okay, but it wasn't dealing as much damage I would have liked. I have every Swordian Device enabled and I have the Myth Wear and Kris Dagger equipped. The first time I fought him I was at level 103.

Also, if anyone has any way of defeating Hugo more quickly, I'd love to hear it. He refused to go down as fast as I wanted him to.

So yeah, basically any recommendations for the Rank 6 Arena with Leon would be very appreciated.

you're playing games instead of translating?!?!! how dare you!!!!11111

... i actually haven't even played ToDR yet, so i doubt this will be very useful, but... have you tried spamming flash? i hear they reduced its brokenness in DC, but if it's still good, spamming flash and majinken setsuga might do it? also, gen'eijin.

also, try using apple gels frequently. this will surely give you a tactical edge that barbatos has no hope of countering.

You should use these 3 materials= Heal Material, Edge Material and Fix Material
Use Edge + Fix when you are comboing, it will make stuff SO much easier, use Heal + Fix if you are running away or healing.
For hugo (dont kill me) use Majinken Souga spam along with Edge material, in literally 3 minutes he will go down, he has a bitchsome HP, and even more bitchsome magic defense, so spam majinken souga
Good Luck, man!

The first time I saw that move, Barbatos officially became my hero. Hell, Tales of Barbatos is still on my most wanted list.

Using Edge always makes me nervous since it has a chance of 1-hit KOing you, but I guess it makes sense so long as it's during a combo. What level should I be? Do I need to do a bit more grinding? I guess I'll need to do another run to get Fix and Edge, so I'll probably be at 110-115 before I try again.

Hm... Where can you get the Edge Material on Leon's Side? I haven't come across it.

Oh now that I think about it, I dont think Edge material is in Lions side...
BTW Edge material doesnt OHKO you, it makes double critical chances for both you and the enemy
And I think that the level I beaten the thing with Lion  was around level 150 (arcana ruins+ johny maware rondo= exp farm), and barby was NOTHING, he kept getting Stone status effects, and I kept getting my CC back XD

The best recomendation I give you is to use the weaknesses on each boss (Lion has all basic elements, minus wind), also for the spoilerific boss you mentioned I dunno why Jyuushourai doesnt do weak point damage to him >.>

EDIT= Actually I think I was way overlevelled, this can be done in lvl120-130 pretty easily

Yep, you're right. I just beat it at level 134 with very little difficulty. So I finally have all the title. Yay! Thanks for the help, everyone!

No, you did. I wasn't using the Fix material at first. Without that, I wouldn't have stood a chance. So that suggestion alone helped.
