On the subject of renaming, the one that's confused me the most was Mikran -> Kronos. What on earth was the point of that?

Not sure if Miktran is a Russian name or not but I guess they didn't want to offend Russians or something? Also Miktran probably doesn't sound as kewl as Kronos, though Kronos sounds like a small cliché.

Karyl made more sense to me when pronounced like the male name "Carl" rather than "Carol"

Well he uses songs for battle and a carol is a type of song.  I didn't say it was good, just that it's there.
