Nice! I wonder if we're looking at yet another PS2 Tales or if they're going to make the jump to one of these next gen platforms.  Well, as long as it isn't on the PS3, it's all the same to me.  I don't even own an 360, but still...

I think the safe bet is still PS2 for this series.

I'm betting it'll be on PS3, whatever this turn out to be. Just a hunch. A hunch that I hope turns out to be wrong...

or wii, and you have to pretend to be the character to control them, with skills executed combo command-style with the wiimote.

you increase your SP consumption and regeneration stats by going to the gym and using the treadmill irl XD

should make for some interesting infinite combo attempt videos...

I don't know.. I mean, I won't be surprised, but I'm having trouble thinking that a big Japanese production that isn't meant for an international release will move up to the PS3 yet, based mainly on the sales in that country.

This is a post expressing my excitement and surprise.

Yup. That's the sound of being hit with three and five titles at a time over the last couple of years. Hooray for over-saturation! Well, if it's just ONE title (that isn't going to the PS3 or PSP) and it promises to add a little spark to the formula.. I'll be excited. Otherwise.. yeah.

My only surprise is that they wait until one week after the last Tales to announce the next. In the past couple years there was never a time with "complete voidness" over what to expect next.

Turns out that instead promoting the next release (like done in the past) Tales of Destiny 2 PSP is packed with a  trailer for Radiant Mythology. And Alfa System did the porting (so it's three ported Tales games all with different porting staffs <_<).

Didn't they say that the next Tales was going to be on a next-gen system though?

I'm pretty sure the next Tales game will be on PS3 as of the system specific game lists on Namco's site the PS3 one is the only one with a so far untitled RPG game.

But under the Wii section it lists Sword of Legendia being a tentative name.

Of course, that doesn't mean it's a Tales game. I don't recall any Tales game going under a tentative name where it didn't have "Tales" in it.

I'm sorry, that made me crack up. Had to mention that.

As for Tales games, I feel the same as the rest of you. It used to be an event when a new 'Tales' was coming out. Now it seems like a quarterly thing. Oh well -  I'm not excited, but I hope it at least has a fun battle system and isn't on PS3. If not, I'll just wait till they announce the next one... *yawn*

RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR RUMOR

Jeux France RUMOR

Tales of Phantasia 2 for DS
Tales of the Abyss port for Wii
Tales of the Harmony for Wii (Abyss sequel)

I dunno the likelyhood of any of this, but Abyss ported to Wii without the technical problems+better framerate and improved graphics would be pure sex, and shouldn't cost that much to make.

We'll see. They DO like to announce this stuff in batches, and there isn't much, if anything else on the Tales horizon.

Only several days left...

I can't say I'm too excited for any of those.. maybe Harmony (if any of that is true, of course). An improved Abyss would be nice but I already put 90 hours into it on the PS2 and don't think I'd want to start again without my New Game+ bonuses from that! I'd probably buy into the Phantasia 2 DS if it was 2D and up to speed with newer 2D Tales games.. though I was always least interested in the characters and story of that game, maybe only second to Symphonia.

Yeah, none of them particularly strike my interest.  The thought of Phantasia 2 is actually quite frightening to me.  I'm just finishing up my translation of the original, give me a break!  Lips Sealed

Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.  I personally hope it's an original game rather than a port or a sequel.
