I'm actually REALLY looking forward to Innocence too ^.^;;  I rather like the character designs ... and it's tied between Ruca and Spada for me xD

Yeah Ruca's design is kind of plain, but I like it for some reason ...

Well, they already toned down Free-Run as it is is in RM. Different classes have different Guard + Forward (Legendia's dash thing, Advance Guard, and Teleporting). Plus, they didn't let you go nearly as fast as Abyss did even at end-game. Also, spells spawned instantly, so dodging them wasn't the best idea, you'd have to eat them or Suigojin Symphonia style.

First off, they now open a separate site for Tales of Destiny Director's Cut (the link on Teichan just leans to the entrance to the actual site).

http://toddc.jp/

They have the date for release set for January 31 next year.  Also, they have a Premium Box with a soundtrack and an illustration booklet.  Now you're going to have to decide how much you're going to hurt your bank account now.

For the next part, there's some more Tales of Innocence stuff on the site.

They have another video of the battle system.  They also have a small box art on the site.

I still think they were disappointed with the original release's performance, and that's the main reason this exists at all. Kinda makes me wonder if we'll ever see another full-scale remake in the series again.

All versions of ToP feel really outdated to me. Stupid Namco for the port milking. Another ground-up remake probably wouldn't have a chance. :/

I highly doubt that (but it's a widespread misconception). It only had a print of around 300.000 pieces which were sold out within a couple days and never reprinted. They likely planned the DC back then already.

Edit: Hm, the "soundtrack" has the same amount of pieces (21) like there are arranged Tales pieces which were used in the Orange/Peach Gumi preorder DVDs... Anyone gonna bet with me it's those?

Interesting that import shops (play-asia, himeya) still have it available... but if that's the case, then I think this is the lowest form of milking they've ever done.

Well, Play-Asia had Tales of the Abyss listed as available (but waiting to be in stock) until I'd badgered them for two months to realise that it's out of print. Talk about a waste of my time and money to try and buy it from them. :/

Ur not missing much, just a bunch of really cool looking fighting scenes. Story wise is ok, but boring and done b4(predictable too). They should steal some of Chrono Trigger's ideas for a story on this great series maybe. Hope it's 2 ur liking since u spent cash/time on it already(I did mainly for collecting/playing/beating all Tales & their spin offs Wink).

if you have one of those fancy hard drive ps2 setups, that would help a LOT. the load times are atrocious.

not in the later parts of the game, where you run around between towns and go to the world map every 5 minutes, instead of battling in dungeons for an extended period of time (which is what DOESN'T have horrific load times, amazingly enough).

Yeah, but there's been a lot of faults every time a new Tales comes out leaving only Phantasia, Symphonia, and both Destiny 1 & 2 as the good ones in the series(though I think Legendia is ok besides the music been out of place). It's like they're focusing too much on little things like battle/action additions and graphics to keep the game good but people get over that quick. I'm a fan and like all of them(even the ND spin offs), so I'll be getting them regardless. Just pointing out crap I don't like when a new one comes out.

I hated that. Abyss needed more dungeons, and they needed to be longer. It's not as if you ever ran out of TP in the later parts of the game. I still think it's an awesome game (love the writing, especially Jade), but for having such a fun battle system, you didn't get to experience it as often as you should have.
