1- Act ignorant to a game coming out
2- Acknowledge it's existence, but say "we have no plans of bringing it over"
3- Say "we still plan on bringing other titles in the series"
4- Kick fanbase in face by saying "go buy these other games that play nothing like the game you want"

We appreciate everyone's enthusiasm for the Tale's series. There are many elements required to successfully bring a game to market and the localization of the series is a huge effort, from text translation and audio recordings to testing of the game. While we currently don't have plans to bring the Tales games to the US, we're looking at each of them and evaluating the possibility of bringing them to market.

So apparently, while they don't have any concrete decisions as of now, they ARE paying attention to Tales news coming out of Japan and will decide which game (if any) will come over?

So, unless they're spending like 2 years on the localization, and the Japanese branch office doesn 't wants gargantuan proportions of the sales income, 200 000 copies is more than enough copies sold to make the entire process beyond worthwhile in the long run.
