3D/cel-shading for the win.

As much as I like 2D Tales, I'm glad this one is 3D. Playing imported Wii games is kind of tough now, seeing as how Nintendo killed freeloader and all.

You sort of thought what I was thinking.  The only difference is that I only thought he looked like some sort of composer.  You just managed to make an actual comparison to a musician.

If this is Tales of Destiny 3, then I'm not really complaining but I just need to see more.

ToD 3 to Wii = my Tales fanboy dream come true.

Not only would it be a sequel to the two Tales games I love the most, but also on the only current-gen console I can buy... and 3D, which means it'll probably get a NA release. (oh wait, forgot this isn't for a Sony console )

If and when it's confirmed, my hype for this game will reach the stratosphere. BRING IT ON, NAMCO!

Don't you have homebrew to override the region lock?

I never had Wii's freeloader and I still can boot imports on a unmodified console (that's how I played ToS2, really).

This ain't ToD3, they'd have to do ToD1 and 2 for Nintendo consoles if that was it since most people didn't play those. And I also rather have a Team Symphonia game, Team Destiny is welcome of course, and preferably still doing 2D, BUT... Team Symphonia is the most mass accepted one and the only one that wouldn't come out as cheap for the userbase if there's only one game coming. (and after ToS2 being what it was, not a main game neither a Team Symphonia game)

The modeling reminds me of Fragile, just for that I reckon it could use more facial detail, although the face is not clearly seen.

Was there a conference trailer? god dammit they already leaked Monster Hunter 3 and Dragon Quest IX trailers, why haven't they leaked this one? (is it not worth it?)

I could see this being ToD3 after seeing the sales performance for the series fall through the floor in recent times. They could be trying to revive interest in the series with a new entry in the best-selling subset of games in the series.

I don't think they'd use a new remix of an old BGM for no reason, as they've only done that in prequels, sequels, spin-offs, and cameo battles...

Big-time fail if this turns out to be ToD3 and the main character isn't named Eric or Kenny.

I wouldn't mind a 3rd game in ToD line though. Both games did very well, and both had a very memorable selection of characters as well (Loni is memorable to me because he never shuts up ==;). Since I did chip my Wii I'll consider importing this when its released.

The remix is not new, it "The decision to the future - Mist" from the Tales of Destiny ~ Orange Gumi Dramatic DVD Premium Soundtrack, also included on the Tales of Destiny Director's Cut CE soundtrack...

Seeing how its 3D I wonder if the traditional "Team Destiny" dedicated to 2D still exist as before. ToH is done by previously secondary Team Destiny people, both ToV and ToS-R had plenty previous Team Destiny art people, and Tales Studio's updated corporate info page still gives the number of 132 employees, the same amount as last year even though there were two dozen new people in ToS-R alone...

I want Team Symphonia on the Wii doing 3D games (and Team Destiny should keep up the 2D)

Anyway, Team Symphonia certainly didn't have time and these games take time to make (ToV started out in Q4 2005 I believe) so taking into account this is a thing that should be in a pipeline for a while now... it's probably coming from other place than where were "90% of team symphonia" assembled; which leads us to Team Destiny (which I really think their territory is the 2D one, while thinking we Wii owners deserve something more flashy than 2D but without jeopardizing Team Destiny)

As for ToD3... then they'd have to port ToD1 and ToD2 remakes, since this is a main tales on a platform where tales games tend to sell outside japan (hence, they have to think of a international release from the ground)

Being a ToD3 would mean it would have reduced appeal to westerners. So... I'm kinda lost.

Also with the question if Team Ratatosk merged into these guys or if they'll continue to exist... not that I like them, a team made of Team Symphonia scraps and a sorry excuse for "primary" support on a platform that leads, but it's not like I want them fired, so their destiny in one form or another, is relevant too.

Doesn't seem cel shaded to me at all.

But might be, I dunno. ToSDotNW also doesn't appear to be cell shaded in screenshots but is in-game, fairly light cel shading applied

What if this new wii title is a completely new series? I mean that would be cool! I am so excited to see the gameplay... mmm if they pulled a faster abyss, now everything is possible

Another event happened and... Tales Wii was shown...

The tidbits:

- No one really had anything to say besides that it's 3D and the feel (look) felt like Vesperia's, so it's either cel-shaded (same engine?) or continues the cartoony look of the series.

I dunno that screen shot at the top doesn't look very vesperiaish to me. It looks like it's leaning more  toward tos2 in that screen shot. I sooo didn't like that cartoony crack
