I honestly believe that we will soon be entering a new era of Tales.  With Final Fantasy no longer part of the "cool" crowd in JRPG (My own, as well as many others, opinion), I have a very good feeling about the future localizations of Tales.  Now, maybe it's cause it's late at night and I'm up listening to full versions of the OPs on Youtube, but I just think that with Namco's sudden change of heart (as far as I can tell) on bringing their hit series to US shores is a good sign.
How long will it now be before we start seeing the older games we didn't get over here in the beginning days?  I don't think we have that long to wait, my friends.  Especially with the Vita and Wii U coming out.

After all, remember we skipped over FF2, FF3, and FF5 at first, too.  Now we have them in compilation form.

High hopes, people.  I have high hopes.

Well, they said that the future of US localizations are very dependant on the sales of Tales of the Abyss 3DS and Tales of Graces F.  So, if you're truely wanting more games to come out, promote the sales of those games like your life depends on it.  That's what I'm doing.

I'd love to be hopeful with you. It depends very much on the success of Abyss 3DS, and (more so) that of Graces f. If the titles don't do well, I have a hard time seeing us "entering a new era of Tales," as you put it.

But we'll see.

As I mentioned, that post was typed last night when my senses were dull and everything seemed flowers and rainbow ponies.   I am now back to my cynical, angry old self, and my hope has healthily diminished.  Namco hates us and they laugh at our pain.

There is no hope.

(Note that if I am online again tonight, my feelings may once again change.)

Edit:  Doesn't mean we can't still believe, though Wink

We are likely entering a new era, but for a totally different reason: Tales Studio (like all other previously separate Namco Bandai developers) no longer exists as a separate unit, and reportedly only 80 of the once 135 people at the high point joined the unified development studio, Namco Bandai Studio Inc.
