anyone have a rapidshare or something? this filebank thing is a major pain.

EDIT: i also looked back at new versions of old fighters... man, Fight of Project Mixes is just horrible. no balance whatsoever, blocked attacks still do ridiculous amounts of damage, barbatos of all people is terribly weak (and then you have to fight teams of two, first, kyle and loni, then stahn and leon), etc. etc. etc.

on the other hand, Exceed Force is fun as always, and Cross Calibur seems to be trying to create a ToDR-like battle system. personally, i'd recommend those two by far.

i got it now. thanks, you know who Tongue

... seriously, what the hell? is making impossible battles a trend in these sorts of games, or something? barbatos x 2 for guy, hell, even barbatos x 1 for stahn. lloyd (the very first battle) for dhaos. huh??

i'm betting if i were to go play as barbatos, he would be crappy. :/

oh wait, actually, he's not, he's actually amazing Tongue though he doesn't have the insta-cheap elimination move and world destroyer move he had when i fought him...

...Barbatos x2 for Guy?
Are we playing the same game?

And by the way, do you know how to stop World Destroyer?
As soon as I get him on low HP, he uses it and that's it.

well, at least that's what i got the first time, i guess i'll try again Tongue

no idea on world destroyer. my attacks seemed to just go right through him. maybe you have to finish him with a BC? :/

speaking of which, any idea on how to perhaps do houou tenshouku or senpa shunrenjin with guy? i haven't figured out anything besides his basic/arcane artes and maou engekiha.

There's a command list here, but some attacks don't tell you how to do them, probably because the programmer wanted people to figure it out themselves.
http://be4you.jp/acs/command.txt

From what I got, attacks with a circle next to them cost TP, not necessarily the same amount as other attacks. Strangely most hi-ougis/blast calibers are under the same conditions so you can perform them at any time as long as you have enough TP. Also, attacks next to a circle with another circle in it can only be done when you're in overlimits and have enough TP (not even TP is necessarily required such as Lloyd's houou tenkuu which replaces hitenshouku once you hit overlimits and it doesn't cost any TP).

Guy's Houou Tenshoku is Down Forward Back + E when you have enough TP. Dunno about Senpa shunrenjin or a lot of other attacks that are unlabeled. Generally just try Down, Forward, Down, Forward + E. Leon's Majin rengokusatsu and I think Lilith's akuma shun goku satsu knockoff works like that. Overlimits and about half max TP for those and most other overlimits hi-ougis.

For the Barbatos x2 thing, the closest thing I've had to that is glitches. Sometimes attacks clash in a weird way and for some reason a clone sprite is made of the character in their hit stun animation, but the real one still moves around. Sometimes this clone stays there or falls off the bottom of the screen. I've also had attack clashes where it ended up freezing the opponent until I hit them again (sometimes I get frozen, and when I do for some reason the computer just stands there sometimes, forcing a reset).

For Barbatos' world destroyer (a CPU only move according to the movelist)... yeah, he's invincible once he does it. It's a one hit ko no matter what (got me when I had 3/4 life, lameness). The best thing you can do is try to kill him before he does it. Memorize the most damaging combo and do it as soon as he enters overlimits (sometimes I'm unlucky enough for him to do it as soon as he's in overlimits). Or try to land a hi-ougi/blast calibur without comboing into it if you think it will kill him. Barbatos' Blast Caliburs happen to be listed as BURUAAAAAAAAst Calibur.

whoops, looks like the barbatos x 2 thing was a glitch. the sync fight is supposed to be guy's last one, but i got that barbatos fight after it for some reason last time.

but yeah, i can't possibly beat barbatos even once, neither with stahn nor leon. any time i get close, he'll use world destroyer... it's like you have to time it just right so that when he gets close to using the move, you finish him with a BC. what the hell was the creator thinking? was this move really this ridiculous back in ToDR?

i did get a hang of the hi-ougis... guy's ~37 hit combo is pretty sick (something like slash, kogahazan, slash, kogahazan, slash, kogahazan, kokuu renshoujin, zeppa juujishou, houou tenshouku for the win Tongue). stahn's gouma kaijinken is pretty ridiculous too, and is especially hilarious when used as a finisher.

stahn on barbatos:
spam shinkuu retsuzan or reppa senpuujin, and maou engekiha if you have tp to spare
hit him out of spells with rekkuuzan
weed him down to less than 1/4, kill with gouma kaijinken

The creator redid the site (http://be4you.jp/acs), I changed the command list link to the new one. He also says World Destroyer happens at a fixed HP, so you need to combo him to death before that happens. Guess it was on purpose and not an oversight.

Also I think the Barb x2 wasn't a glitch. I just recognize the word omake in there so I guess it's a joke fight (joke's on you apparently).

Q. バルバトス2体が倒せない。
A. 単なるオマケですので倒せたら万々歳ぐらいに思ってください。

Anyway, my Barbatos strategy for Leon. Not necessarily the best, but I beat Barb with it.

Whenever I say combo: A, B, C, For Back For + C x2 (Majin Messatsuen), FBF + B (Kuushuuken)

Walk up to him before the round starts and double jump straight up in front of him. Most likely he'll use some lightning attack (which will miss you if you jumped straight up) and the attack will move Barb forward a bit which will put you behind him most of the time when you land and then he's vulnerable while attacking the wrong direction. Combo, then double jump over him. He'll probably use BS Genocide Braver so double jumping will go over it. If you don't think you can make it in time, try blocking. If he doesn't use GB, then you'll jump over whatever he's doing anyway most of the time.

Sometimes GB will guard break you (this happened to me mostly from getting braver'd into a corner and trying to block in the corner in anticipation of another one). Sometimes the controls are unresponsive too and even if you jump and try to air guard, it won't happen every time. Also sometimes the double jump doesn't register and you'll jump into a GB.

Sometimes when he casts a spell and you're a far distance away from him, run toward him, but watch out because once the spell activates, you'll start walking for some reason so quickly double tap to run again and the spell will miss you. Most likely it's Ceiling Fall, so it will miss. Then combo.

Keep this up and if you think he'll go into auto-overlimits, back up out of range of the burst area. Then double jump over him and combo. I think this general strategy of double jumping over him can work for most characters that are mobile enough, but I haven't tried it. Once you think he's just a bit away from World Destroyer, then replace the combo with a blast calibur and hope it kills him. Just remember how much of a chunk of damage the BC does and try to eyeball the life gauge and think if it will kill him. What can be good is if you do the strategy and end up with a good chunk of life, then get hit on purpose to the point of overlimits. Characters that use CC will get more CC this way. With Leon, you can extend the combo with another Majin Messatsuen so hopefully the added damage can kill him without a BC. Or you could risk a Majin Rengokusatsu (D,F,D,F+E) after overlimits, but it may clash and not work if you're unlucky.

The ending is not worth it, but that doesn't matter too much in fighting games.

go to the link in kogahazan's latest post: there's a link on the left hand side that leads you to a download page (third link set, first link, says A.C.S). The first link on the download page is the installer.

You need to run it in Japanese mode because the program is looking for Japanese file names. Either switch your Windows region to Japanese or a more convenient solution is AppLocale. Microsoft says it's just a quick fix and if you're going to be often using programs in region format different from your computer, you should probably change the region. Personally I only need applocale for Japanese games so I don't bother with region.

http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/tools/apploc.mspx
Microsoft's official AppLocale wizard.

However, in the interest of convenience, I highly recommend you follow the directions on this site.
http://alcahest.club.fr/perso/apploc/applocale.html

It allows you to simply right-click a program and select a new menu option called "Locale Japanese" which launches the program in Japanese region mode without having to open the AppLocale wizard. Of course it's specifically for Japanese programs so you're on your own if you want this functionality for other regions.

Also as a side-note, if you happen to be running Windows Vista, you'll probably run into an error when installing AppLocale. Just right-click the installer and click Run as Administrator. It's funny how much Vista install problems are solved by that.

Wow, thanks a ton. I also tried it out on a few other buggy games from Japan, and it fixed everything. Thanks!
