Posted this on Absolute Zero's forums as well, thought it deserved to be here too as I have the utmost respect for PP.

Okay, this could be a rather long post but please bear with me.

I've been following the Tales Series since 1998 with Tales of Destiny it was my favorite game as a kid and still remains as one of my favorite games. Now 2001 rolls around and Eternia comes out in the USA, I was overjoyed thinking this was a sequel to the first Tales of Destiny, unfortunately it was just a stupid title name mistake on Namco's part. Don't get me wrong, Eternia was an amazing game and I enjoyed every second of it.

Now 2002 rolls around I get a computer and have access to the internet, I find GameFAQs and notice there are other Tales games that havent been released outside of japan which immediately makes me wonder why Namco hasn't brought anymore of these games over. I also stumble upon DeJap's SFC translation of Tales of Phantasia and Cless-sama's PSX translation of Tales of Phantasia as well. I played DeJap's translation and again asked myself, why hadn't Namco brought this game over years ago? (Still waiting on Phantasian Production's translation of ToP btw. ;P)

Now two years pass and i'm seeing countless Tales games being released in Japan...notable ones include Destiny 2 in 2002, and Rebirth in 2004. Again watching gameplay videos of these, I ask myself why the HELL isn't Namco bringing these over?!

2005 rolls around and i'm looking at some games in the store and I happen to see Tales of Symphonia on the shelf, I thought to myself, is this...how did I miss this? I immediately bought it and borrowed my brother's Gamecube and played the hell out of Symphonia. I was overjoyed that the Tales games were once again getting some love in the west.

Things were looking up for the Tales series with Legendia being released early 2006 and Abyss in late 2006 in the USA, and I was super happy because it looked like the Tales series was finally getting the attention it deserved.

Also mid 2006 I finally cave in and buy a NTSC-J PS2 so I can finally enjoy Destiny 2, Rebirth, Tales of Destiny R, all those amazing titles we never got a chance to play.

Now i'm finally seeing some more translation projects on the internet which gave some more hope for the Tales community, notably Destiny 2 translation project was stared, and throughim413 and Gemini's ToP was finished. Finally playing ToP on the PSX was amazing. (Again still waiting on Phantasian Production's project, both of them. >__<)

2008 rolls around and I see Tales of Vesperia was released after not hearing much about localized Tales games, unfortunately they decide to release it on the XBox, which I don't have and don't intend to buy with the rumored PS3 version coming as well. Also I see a bunch of Tales translation projects have popped up, notable Destiny R DC and a few DS titles which I have yet to play as I don't have a DS either.

Now near the end of 2009 rolls around and Vesperia PS3 is FINALLY released, however there was a rumored western release in the works so I held off on importing it as I thought maybe Namco is finally giving the Tales series some love again.

End of 2010 rolls around, a bunch of new Tales games have been released notably Narikiri Dungeon X, Graces /f, and Xillia has been announced. Again I think to myself, Vesperia PS3 hasn't made it over...things aren't looking good for the chances of the rest of those games coming over. ;__; So I finally caved in and imported Vesperia and Graces PS3.

Beginning of 2011, my Vesperia and Graces PS3 finally come in the mail, and I jump on the internet and stumble upon the Graces F and Vesperia PS3 translations over at Tales of Graces Translations, immediately I proceeded to shit brix as I didn't think this would ever be possible on the PS3. So I came to a conclusion, Namco isn't willing to do it anymore, so it's up to the fans to take it in their hands to translate these amazing games. As someday we will have all our beloved Tales games in english, one way or another. ;3

Thanks goes out to all the translation groups and individual people over the years,

Dejap,
Phantasian Productions,
Kajitani Eizan,
Absolute Zero Translations,
Tales of Graces Translations.

Obviously i'm missing a large number of people to thank but those are the only ones that pop into my head right now.

Thank you to everyone reading this as without Tales fans, we would never see these games translated.

From one Tales fan, to another.
