I must disagree with Sonic Heroes being the worst game in the series.

Well, that may be, but I would bid for 'fundamentally broken' as a valid description of it. How the hell GameSpot thought the GameCube version (which I have played extensively) was deserving of a 7.5 absolutely baffles me. I can't even count the amount of times that I've been killed through glitches, bad camera angles, or sheer bad design in that game.

I didn't mean to veer off topic with this, I'll just make it short, I don't want to hijack the thread further.

I think of ratings on a 10 scale like grades. 9 would be A, 8 is B, and so on. So a 7.5 would be a C, which would be average. Except some people say for games that 5 is average, but games I've seen with scores of 5 are still bad. There are bad glitches and camera angles, but that's something that's always plagued 3D Sonic games. I would like to think it's been improved over the last two Sonic Adventures at least. Reasons I've seen it being rated higher is because it goes back to the old formula of just running through to the goal (except for Team Chaotix...)

5 is supposed to be average. Except you'll find most publication's "average" to be around 7 or so. The lower half of their scale tends to be their scale seems to be reserved for jokes.

When I realized this, I started preferring the true 5 scale myself... it's a lot harder to bend like that.

Anyway, I don't see it coming. The PSP is already dying. Namco never seemed intent on wanting to bring ToP over anyway. The fact it took three years from the Japanese release for the GBA version to come out and also be published by Nintendo seems to suggest to me that its release over here was moneyhatted. Not to mention the cheap, uninspired localization...

I must disagree with Sonic Heroes being the worst game in the series. A majority of people favor it over the previous two Sonic Adventures. What you said would make more sense with Shadow the Hedgehog replacing Sonic Heroes. It's wonders how that mess got players choice.

You're insane if you think most people prefered Heroes over 1 and 2. Personally, I've never encountered a single person of that opinion, and should such people exist, I could confidently say they are a minority.

Sonic Heroes was the worst Sonic game. It was, in fact, much worse than Shadow the Hedgehog, which wasn't really a Sonic game, anyway. It was a terrible game, with sloppy, badly designed levels, hideous graphics, and virtually no fun.

That insane comment hurt. I said didn't want to turn this into a thread hijack. I know I'm the one who brought it up, but please drop this. I respect your opinion but when you start attacking people, that's when you know things go too far.

Nintendo of America was in charge of the US GBA english translation as well as the US GBA english translations of the SNES Final Fantasy 4-6 ports, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Final Fantasy 1 and 2: Dawn of Souls, and Sword of Mana. They were licensed to Nintendo by Square Enix and Namco.
