FALSE.

Prove it.

I am strongly against Sony Computer Entertainment of America's localization policies, which includes policy against against games containing sprite based characters.

I'm really sorry to point this out, but most of those games you actually posted were either released on the PLAYSTATION and actually were packaged with additional content (Why the hell did you even point out the Street Fighter Complation?). The only games which can actually be questioned are the Nippon Ichi games, and that even makes sense because they were translated by different companies from the one that actually MADE it.

Other than that, I have never seen an purely sprite based, origional games with no added extras, just a localiation, either on the Playstation 2 or the PSP. Angry

I shall point some out, then. Stella Deus and the Guilty Gear series.

Anyway, the so called "anti 2D" rumor has existed well since the PS1 came into existence. It's nothing new that was suddenly introduced with the PS2.

I doubt SCEA's given a "free pass" to Nippon Ichi.

It is a fact that far fewer 2D games are being made on the PS2, and that includes in Japan. How many worthwhile and marketable 2D Japanese PS2 games has the US not received?

Frankly, a good deal of the ones we have received are nothing special. NISA's published Idea Factory games are proven trash, and I haven't seen any reason not to call Gust's games anything but "generic". The only games I've liked that have come from them are their very own. I also hated Stella Deus with a burning passion. I've never played Guilty Gear and have no interest in it.

Namco is entirely the one to blame for us not receiving Destiny 2 or Rebirth. The upper management is too worried that that 2D games wouldn't sell enough for them to afford new BMWs. And if Namco wasn't so goddamned stingy when it comes to licensing their games out to other third parties, we'd probably have ToD2 thanks to Working Desgins and ToR thanks to XSeed.

Prove it.

Jack Niida, who is Nippon Ichi Software America's marketing coordinator and thus way more credible than whoever you are, says the opposite of what you claim. Maybe you should try proving your claim?

How does that make sense? How do added extras make a difference either?

--Tales of Vesperia's plot will involve space aliens in some way

We should give Tales of Phantasia another chance for North America one day.  If Namco of America does not announce its intentions to localize the Tales of Destiny PS2 remake to North America within one year from its Japanese release, then the game should be fan translated.

If namco has any logic in them they'll bring full voice edition to the US, most of the people that come to acknowledge the the GBA version isn't the best one also know the the PSX one ruled, and those same people should know that the PSP version is heavily based on the PSX one, also this could suposadly act as the game's big comeback to the united states, who knows...

Out of all the people that bought the GBA version, how many do you think know that other versions exist?

you have a point... but still, judging by reactions by other companys to games like this, theres a high chance they only look at sales, not returns or reveiws.

EDIT: to ansewere your question, anyone who reads the back of the box should know that atleast one other version exists, and you could also be askng why try again in japan? the GBA version failed there too,

bad rating doesn't always mean low sales, the same people who don't know if there are other versions, usually don't go to online review sites to see how well the game was rated if they would the review would some ware state that there was a Superior PSX version. look at the sonic the hedgehog series for a second, the worst game ever was released into the series (sonic heroes) and it still landed a player's choice,  these same people may not even return there copays out of laziness.

The PSX version wasn't released here.  There are only reader reviews.  I never said the GBA version was poorly rated.  It got 6's and 7's.  It didn't sell well in the US.  Tales of the Abyss didn't sell well.  The only Tales game that sold well in the US was Tales of Symphonia.

I must disagree with Sonic Heroes being the worst game in the series. A majority of people favor it over the previous two Sonic Adventures. What you said would make more sense with Shadow the Hedgehog replacing Sonic Heroes. It's wonders how that mess got players choice.

Off-topic, yes. But I couldn't let that slide.
