release date?

Ive been looking ALL over this forum for a specific(or even general) release date for the english patch.
(I dont consider the one posted in the FAQ a real one, it was posted about 9 months ago)

Ive read up on the patch and everything on it seems so... I dont know...
and I know Im being impatient; as Ive been only waiting for a few days, compared to everyone else who has been for 4 years), but i think many people want to know when they can expect its release.

Im sorry if its already been posted or if there are too many variables to make a accurate assumption
but i would really appreciate something like "sometime this month" or "here's the download link(in a perfect world...)"

I actually cringed when I saw the thread's title. I walked into this thread expecting to see Istiku on the ground in a pool of blood with an angry mob standing around the body... XD

Me as well.  While I agree it's annoying for the translator to be asked about the release date (some times it's a constant thing, so Cless is pretty lucky here), it's also sometimes brutal in the way that some people crucify people that ask about release dates.

In any case, I've been waiting for this for years now (mostly as a lurker on these forums, only joined a little while back), and I've learned to not really plan for the release, to hype myself up for ToP, just to do other things, and be happy with what I've got.  Done when it's done means to me to forget whatever I'm waiting for, and only occasionally check up on it (and that goes for other things I wait for, as well; sometimes, I forget what I'm waiting for so completely that when I check back again, it's been ages since the release actually happened).

If it's any consolation, I'm pretty confident it will finally be released within this year. All major milestones have been reached. The last one, editing (still a big milestone in itself), is coming along well. I received an editing draft the other day that amounts to around 40% of the main dialogue.

A couple months from now could be a very realistic possibility.

A part of me wants to hold out to see what they've done in the official Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World localization before putting the final touches on the text, but if it looks like patch is ready well before then, I won't hesitate to release.

But I won't guarantee anything. Every time I've tried to put up some kind of release window it's always blown up in my face.

As I see it no one should expect for a fan to compromise on a specific release date, especially when the product isn't 100% done or at least in beta testing. Sometimes even big companies have to push back their release dates, so...
Anyway, good luck getting that 100%

Well, I was going to suggest at the very least a rough estimate of when it might come out, even if its months away. But you just said that so...great, glad to hear. I've never actually contributed much here but I've been following you guys since maybe...03? 04? I'm glad to see its coming along finally. I had hoped it'd be done very soon after the last announcement. I couldn't really bring myself to play AZ's because of what you guys are doing and the fact that I've followed this one forever now. Anyway, hope to play your translation soon.

I can tell you that I've waited for almost ten years... when absolute zero patch went to the light... I felt that if I don't wait for this patch the whole waiting would have been in vain.

Well with as long as the patch has been in development, I'm sure the quality will be awsome, and all the wait all of us are doing will be worth it.  Yes, I admit, I'm pacifying myself till it's out, but the moment it's out, I'm restarting on this patch.
