I tried to apply the psp sprite patch and it failed. I am using the patcher that it came with and I am using a downloaded version that I already applied the absolute zero translation patch to, can anyone help? also does the translated and the sprite patch crash on poploader? Finally to the people who know Japanese how did you learn it and how long did it take? Thanks.

IIRC the sprite patch was made with the only purpose of testing the patching software, which checks the CRC32 of the file so a modified iso won't patch (This is your case). Also using the psp sprites causes the game to freeze at some points so I don't think u should expect too much from it. Undecided

I also tried patching it before I put the translation on and it didn't work.

Apparently some iso files (especially downloaded ones) have different checksums for whatever reason.
I remember in the topic Cless mentioned the value it should have to work with the patcher.

Just re-dump your iso from the game disc with another program. Oh wait, YOU CAN'T! haha

As for popsloader, I would recommend trying 5.00 pops (best version yet!). Otherwise I would suggest experimenting with different pops versions until you get something that works, but I would check the iso under ePSXe to see if it works first.

So basically the patch freezes up the game and I can't put the patch on without the actual game to rip the ISO. Oh well thanks anyway, also I know it's off topic but does anyone have any advice on learning japanease, because i want to play all the japanease tales games.

Go to Japanese language classes. Best way I can think of. You can try googling to see if there are any form of night school programs or something like that where you live.
