Hmm. Didn't know that that area was on a physically different area; I always assumed it was on the normal lead in, which is pretty much impossible to burn manually, let alone use odd EDC/ECC stuff. But data is data, even if Sony use a special signature, if you can dupe it you can dupe it. Though apparently in this case you can't dupe it... RAW+96 mode isn't standard, by the way. I can name an awful lot of currently available drives which don't support it.
Anyway, ancient hardware does refresh EDC/ECC. My old burner did, before its laser burnt out - that was about 6-7 years old, and it was designed on the wrong (i.e. an even older) specification (Yay! Go HP!).
But this is waaay off topic now, so probably best to end this interesting diversion.

Well, got my order in the mail today. I tested and it works fine on Vista, but it seems you already found that out judging by how you edited the first post to say simply "32-bit Windows".
The only problem is that if you're using ePSXe and loading a save state from a non-patched version, it will work, but you'll see the battle swirl and then it instantly goes back to the map/dungeon as if the battle never happened (as in, you get no experience). My guess is it's a result of the save state expecting the old sprite data or something.
I started a new game and it worked fine, so I'm assuming that loading a save file will work too. The save state thing shouldn't be a problem for most emulator users as long as they've been keeping regular saves alongside the save states.

Erm, yeah. Savestates should *only* ever be used with the ROM/ISO they were created with. Sometimes they'll work, but here... well... there's going to be a problem eventually because half the files are at different offsets in this hack than they were in the original. And the savestate expects them to be in their original positions.
Regular saves, however, are fine (unless there are drastic changes to the save file layout, which there are none in this and won't be with the final either). The only thing that won't work are character names (unless they were named in all caps). But that's a given since the font was replaced.

He means he applied the patch to the PSX game. It would obviously not work on a GBA ROM. Besides, you should not be asking anyone to upload game images here. Remember, this is illegal! If you want the game, you need to buy it yourself.
Battosai, you were able to use the PSP sprite patch in conjunction with the Absolute Zero patch? Have you gotten into any battles yet?

I am not here to hand out the game or semantics, Im here because I love Tales of Phantasia,
here are some newgame screens with the psp sprites and absolute zero's translation, if cless doesn't like it or anything he can take them down or what not...
keep up the great work cless, and if you find another good deal from ebay post it, I DO want to get a hard copy of this game badly.

I'm not Cless, but here's one for $15.50

It's the same person that also has it up for sale. I guess they got tired of no one directly buying it, although they didn't delete the store listing.

Actually I just saw that one, going to try to win it, because this game rocks!
Edit: Also the psp sprites look alot better than the original ps1 sprites, I hope you could put an option in the finalized patcher to user either the psp or ps1 sprites....

Does that happen without the translation?
