Just gotta say you're doing some awesome work, i hope you get Phantasia done soon because you've been doing that one thing for a *****in' decade. First time i saw this site was in '05 and i'm pretty sure i didn't even know how to patch a game or anything like that, personally i'm waiting for Destiny DC though. Now PLEASE don't take a decade to do that one  haha

ToD DC \would probably take a decade if not more for a full patch (we're talking a PS2 patch not PSX like ToP  haha ), but I'd rather see ToD2's full patch anyway seeing as there's @ least the menu patch released now, unlike ToD DC.

Also you should know that you don't need to wait a decade to play this, it already has the demo done by Cless and a full patch (out looong time ago, I'll add) by AZT.

Nah man, i'd rather play this one.
You know what? Instead of waiting for a decade old translation, i could've been completely fluent in Japanese in like a quarter of the time it took to make this  Undecided

New member here, just wanted to say that good things take time and great things may take an eternity but it'll be worth it in the end. I have a copy of ToD coming in the mail and am more than willing to help in any way I can. I sent a more comprehensive email to the recruitment address but we have about 10 people at my store that can read Japanese to varying degrees and love projects such as this. I wouldn't say any of us are fluent, but we are more bodies willing to take on some work to achieve a great goal.

Both were great (ToD2/ToD DC, but more ToD2 for the battle system, just my opinion haha ), I'd say both of them are worth the patch if they were to get worked on. ToP looks like it'd get done soon, but I'd maybe hope for a a menu patch for ToD DC @ the most if I were you (Cless did say they might release a menu patch back in '09 @ the main pg, IDK if that's still happening Huh ).

Either that or play w/o the patch (like I did Cheesy) and use the translation site made by the fans: http://todrtrans.pbworks.com/w/page/22323479/FrontPage

But I hate things going unfinished (better full than incomplete, despite the menu being helpful) so I'd rather wait for a full ToD2 patch , just saying, my opinion  haha

People are all ready coming out with translated patches for PS2 games so...its not like it would take a decade as long as an entire team remained dedicated and stuck to it. It also depends on how nitpicky everyone is and how long they spend on certain aspects.

Quality is of course of utmost importance on the Destiny projects too, but I think the only really massive mind bender we're currently aware of on that side is ironing out the terminology and consistency properly between Destiny 2 and Destiny remake.

Depending on how the situation is, I guess there might be some additional cosmetic and under-the-hood changes to various things on the PS2 games too, but currently there's nothing that indicates they'll require anywhere near as much work as what's been put into ToP (the actual text translation part aside, that is)

haha, I've seen this site ever since they first announced the ToD2 project,  and I'm pretty sure they haven't finished even one game translation project.

Anyway, hope this changes in the future.

It depends on how you define dedication, I think all the translators, hackers, coders, etc on PP are very dedicated to finishing all their patches eventually, but since it's usually "quality over quantity" (ToP's ongoing proofreading is perfect example  haha, even Carnivol says, "quality is of course of utmost importance") on the forum, I really doubt that it'll happen anytime soon (though, I hope..). Not that I'm complaining or anything, that's just how it is.

There's also not too many PS2 assembly programs out there, compared to the older gen consoles like PSX, SNES, etc. Software aside, there's really not too many translation patches on PS2 games overall (except undub patches, big diff between the 2) if you've looked around lately  Sad :

My thought exactly  haha, I don't put down projects for games I like, but I hope they'll stick to ToP this time and finish it soon

Whether it's ToD2 or ToD DC (after ToP) I'd be very happy to see either of those being worked on (wouldn't it be nice for all of us if those "hiatus" threads got deleted? Smiley), since there's barely any translation patches for PS2 games overall, as I said before Tongue.
