I noticed that MANUAL control has been made available right from the start of the game, and the ability to Save on the field map after leaving the village in the beginning has been removed.

Just wondering, are these changes going to be in the final version?

Saving is disabled entirely in the demo. This will not be present in the full version. So don't worry about not being able to save on the overworld when the full version comes out. You do get a note about saving being disabled in the demo when you reach the first save point (+it was mentioned in advance that saving would be disabled in the demo)

The ability to use manual from the very start is there 'cause Cless comes pre-equipped with the appropriate accessory for it.  You'll "probably" see manual available from the start in the full version too.

Thank God for manual. Honestly, I can't imagine playing this game without it, since the battle system seems a bit too "stiff" in semi-auto.

By the way Cless, is it possible for you to include the items that allow multiplayer controls right from the start?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I've heard it requires an item (I've beaten the game once using the Absolute Zero version, but it was by myself so I'm not sure).

I just figure the fans that love co-op would love being able to play with 4 players as soon as the party is fully together.

Anyways, that manual control addition was a smart move (i think its dumb that it wasn't included to begin with in the original game).

The in-battle subtitles are excellent as well. I also like how the translated/romanized selection for Tech attacks is in the actual Options menu and not asked everytime you boot the game up.

These little things just make that game that much better. Thanks again for all the work you've put into this patch. It'll for sure be the definitive version of the game.

You get the first Channeling Ring if you go talk to Ami (forgot if you got it right away when you get the Cless doll, or if you have to bring her the apple from the General Store shopkeeper)

The need for finding Channeling Rings for the multiplayer might be possible to work around, though. Dunno what plans Cless has on that front (don't think anything concrete was decided last time the subject was brought up)

A tiny note about the Localized/Romanized option, there's actually a third choice there too, but it doesn't show up until you reach a specific point in the game, and all settings in the customize menu saves itself to your save file.

Channeling Rings can be obtained very shortly after getting new characters. They're not mandatory, but they're so hard to miss that it would be incredibly redundant to hack them into everyone's accessory slots. On the other hand, there are originally only two Technical Rings in the game, but this hack will make it possible to obtain three of them (one for every dedicated melee fighter if using multiplayer).

I actually wanted to add a hack that disables the need for accessories to use these modes entirely (it'd be very easy), but I felt that was going a little too far, as:

1) You'd still be obtaining items that would be useless, which would be awkward in a patch like this.
2) Manual control is actually extremely broken, so being able to pile on additional accessories might make it even more so.
3) This game has an exceptionally bad character AI. I can imagine multiplayer + manual control + accessories making things just laughable.

It's still an idea for an offshoot patch I've been thinking of, though.
