Hello there, I've been watching the project for, longer than I can remember.  At least 5 years.  Well on to the question

I enjoy the battle system, and is there any way we could play Mania/the new Difficulties on the demo patch?  The battles dont seem long enough on Hard only.

Question thats a bit off topic, who is the ASM guy that helped get it to work on actual hardware?  Some people in a game hacking community might be interested in that knowledge.  Final Fantasy Hacktics to be precise.

Dunno if Cless included the new difficulties in the patch or not, but you can at least not trigger them by having a save game on your memory card that "should" have them unlocked.

I guess if you have access to a cheat device, such as an Action Replay/GameShark, you could try to use a code for modifying the difficulty level...

Finding the memory value is pretty much easy stuff... so I guess it should be no harm to post this:

800882BA 0000 - Normal
800882BA 0001 - Hard
800882BA 0002 - Mania
800882BA 0003 - Unknown
800882BA 0004 - God

I guess it wont be reflected on the menu screen if you force the ones that aren't visibly unlocked (Mania and up). Also, I dunno if there's any tweaking left to be done or not to the new stuff, or if anything above Mania is even present in the demo patch.

The new difficulties are in definitly, and its actually kinda fun failing miserably at killing a set of 3 owls.  Thanks for the codes, they all work.

Edit:
Well I thought outhers might like it too, for some are lazy like me.  Heres some save states for epsxe, state 1 is normal up to state 5 being god.

The game's difficulty settings are a joke, really. The game merely does all the in-battle enemy stat calculations from the difficulty setting variable. You can set the variable to 0005 to 00FF if your mission is to die an even more bloody death, though at some point there'll be stat overflows. The Monster Book menu hasn't been hacked to support proper stat calculations past difficulty mode 0x04, so stats from there on will be all messed up.

It might also be wise to change the codes to 300882BA since I recall the battle rank value being only a byte, not a halfword.

Could be right. I just quickly looked for whatever value I could first find that'd increase/decrease as I skipped between the 5 in the latest version, and then just froze it at 2 (Mania) and loaded up the Demo build to see if I ran the risk of getting my ass handed to me by 3 owls or not (with great success) haha

After nearly...10 years, I doubt the project is gonna end with a bullet in it's head.
