Highly unlikely. Subbing is a really monotonous process and we don't have a translator anyway.

what? no, it's one ep a week, as usual. just that certain channels are airing two this week instead of one.

yeah, now that I look at it, you're right.

Ack, I'm not used to seeing a schedule for a show being on multiple channels at once.

Anyway, the Tales of the Abyss anime is off to a great start! Looks like it's going to follow the game accurately. You may even say it's a replica.

Episode one has been subbed by two fansub groups already. I'm waiting for them to download to see which group I like better. One of the has close to 2000 seeders and 2000 leechers.

Shinsen-subs

please, don't ever recommend them for anything.

They're just...ugh...translation notes should not exist!  At least not within the episode itself!  You wanna put some on an info page you made before the episode starts or after it ends, then fine, but no goddamn window dropping down!

Their overall translation quality is shoddy as well.

Not to mention their list of dropped projects is almost as long as their list of completed. They're not afraid to hide it too. Going to their main page, you can find that they have 78 finished and 69 dropped.

actually, they seem to be doing a pretty decent job with ToA. TL Note count: zero. they flubbed a handful of game continuity things, but got most of them.

though i haven't heard very good things about them in the past.

they're kinda infamous for oftentimes choosing to pander to weaboos over actually putting out a good translation.

I still think Central-Anime was the best group out there when it worked with Axis to sub Macross 7.  No honorifics, no intro/ending karaoke, no TL notes, and they even used the same yellow font type that official DVDs use.  Very professional, kudos to them.  AiA did the same with GaoGaiGar, so I gotta give them props too, as well as HoM for their subbing of Fist of the North Star (though HoM did have karaoke).

They also down scaled the video and audio quality it seams. I could live with the video (576p) but the audio is really noticeable compared to osu's hd release. By the way both groups are basically the same when it comes to translation osu has even been known (by me) in a different series they were doing to keep the names of the characters in their romanji pronunciation instead of actually spelling the french word correctly (DAMN IT IT"S MORTE! NOT MORUTE!). I only came to report on video quality right now I don't have time to watch them to see either translation fully.

Shinsen-subs are good, so your saying Osu is going to be a better translator? Sorry I know my subbers and I probably watch more anime then you but to tell you the truth I only recommend info on what I know so excuse me. I'm not saying Osu bad but they are just too new of a fan-subber. Also reason for Shinsen-subs so many dropped project because its license and they dont do license anime like many other fansubber out there. Anyways Craymel you can try gg Fansubs; they arent so bad either.

I already know about gg but I don't think they are subbing tales of the abyss.

edit: Never mind just checked. I have good experiences with gg so I'm going with them.

Well, for anyone who is interested, Abyssal Chronicles has released their sub for ep 1.

The links are on their site here - http://www.abyssalchronicles.com/

(Personally, I would prefer AC's sub to any of the other groups, despite this being their first fansub project, since this is a group of some of the most hardcore Tales fans who are more likely to insert all the correct terms and references that we would expect. They also added some interesting effects like the arte/spell name display bar... though I'm not sure it really fits, imo.)
