I know this project is far from top priority, but I had something I was curious about.
I just started playing this game (literally, just started). I was wondering, what are you planning on using for the name of Mel and Dio's 'pet' クルール? Wikipedia translated it as Kruelle, but that really doesn't seem to fit the kana to me. Is there a precedent for this name? For that matter, are you planning on using Mel and Dio or other names?
I was toying around with translating bits and pieces the game, though unlike my work with ToP PSX, I don't expect this to get anywhere. I should really stop putting time into translating the same things you guys are... I'd say I should work on Summoner's Lineage, but Cyllya already worked on that. Oh well, I'll just keep amusing myself even knowing it'll all be for naught eventually.

It's a hard name to transliterate and this is apparently the official one...

Kruelle does fit the kana if you pronounce it right (like krool... or rather "cruel," which is why I'm not fond of that transcription).
If you want to translate something ToP-related that no one else is, you've got a million (okay, maybe ten) options if you're willing to spend like $15. Other than Katararezaru Rekishi, none of the the Tales novels have been touched. There's also the drama CDs, which I believe have an official transcript book (something like "Drama CD scenario book") if you prefer text.

Oh, I see. I was pronouncing the Japanese fine, it's the English I was saying wrong. That's why I thought it didn't fit. 'Cruel' was the first thing I came up with when I was trying to romanize it, but that didn't seem right considering that Mel was trying to name him something cuter...
About the drama CDs, I was actually considering those. At the time, I wasn't sure if there was a transcript or not, but if they do, I'll probably look into buying some of them. I'm pretty good at understanding the general idea of spoken Japanese, but without a transcript so that I could be more precise, I wouldn't have been comfortable trying to do them. It's not that I'm really trying to do something that will make me stand out with this translating, it just seems a little wasteful to invest so much time in something that's already in progress. I'll take a look around on Amazon Japan and see if I can find anything that strikes my interest.
EDIT: I could also always just change my ToP translation to a PSP translation too. All I'd have to do is keep translating the PSX version like I have been and then translate the Elven Bow sidequest in the PSP version. Everything else is the exact same as far as I've found in my searching online.
