Alrighty.  Well, no big loss.  That just means that we have a little extra to do.  Oh yeah, I meant to ask this as well.

As Cyllya and I get the script going, is it possible to use that program that was posted in this thread to reinsert the text into the ROM?  I ask because I figure we might want to test it out as we go along to check and make sure that everything is flowing together well.  If we can't do that, no big deal, I just figure that if we're able to add extra text boxes, it wouldn't hurt to see how it all comes out.  If not, I'm sure it won't be any trouble just to check it over in text form, just thought I'd ask.

Nope, won't be possible. The program's been updated, and the download package doesn't have completed character tables.

Also, there's one more thing about it that I don't completely understand yet, trying to get more info on it...

I'm still here!
Actually...I read the board at least once a week.
I just didn't post anything...

I will help the translation too.

Cyllya and I haven't decided how to break it up yet, though we have talked a bit.  I know she's started translating some already, I've done a little, but nothing really worth mentioning.  But that works, we'll just have to figure out how to break it all up.

I'm not going to guarantee anything, in fact, don't even expect it.

For the nth time, I'm trying to figure out this whole ASM thing.

I want to see if I can make it possible to have 18 characters per line rather than 16 in dialogue windows.

A 3-line dialogue hack looks impossible, though...

Don't worry too much about dialogue window hacks. Most of it's not a problem. (When throughhim413 said "how to break it up," he meant how to divide the work between us, in case you misunderstood.) The parts that might turn out to be a problem are those points when the player is presented with a question and up to four responses. I think I'll go take a gander at one of those parts now, to get an idea of what kind of problem they'll be....

EDIT:

We should be okay in this area too, I think.... The game does these little "talking with parent" deals one of two ways:
1. If the responses are short, it just crams them all in one text box with the numbers 1-3(or 4) to pick from.
2. If they're too long, it lists each response in its own text box followed by another text box with an abreviation of the four options, and that's when you pick.

I don't think we can add more text boxes to the actual list of options without breaking something, but we should be able to tack it onto the end of Mel/Dio's dialogue with no problem, even change the first type to the second type that way.... The option list itself will still give us trouble, even as a list of abbreviations, but we can probably think of something for those situations.

Cyllya predicts:
--Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World will reveal that Ratatosk was involved in ToS's last required scene in Heimdall.
--Tales of Vesperia's plot will involve space aliens in some way

Even though I am not fluent in Japanese, I understand a lot.
I don't have any problem if there is kanji or not.
I love Narikiri Dungeon, I played a lot and finished a few times.

I have some experience in translating script when I made walkthrough.
my writing sucks, but I understood almost all.

Since I love Narikiri Dungeon so much, I want to help the translation in any ways.
like translating whole script dump or overview the translated script.

Cyllya, I sent you a PM today (2/10/07), so check your messages if you get a chance.
I'll be attacking this project full force after March 14, but as for up to now, I really haven't done enough for it to be worth mentioning.  I don't know if Cyllya and ChangeV have been in contact, so I'm not really sure where everything stands right now.
