The only thing I need is a DVD burner, and the software. My PS2 plays burned copies of games, so I'm assuming they're DVD-R games (ToDr,TotA, and Sengoku Basara to name a few of them)
Any recommendations for a DVD burner and software necessary?

I have the original ToDr
It's going to be a patch for the Director's Cut, not the Remake...
---
Things you will need:
-Tales of Destiny: Director's Cut (You need this so you can use the patch on the .ISO)
-Modded PS2/Swap Magic/HD Loader/Other method of playing backups and imports.
-DVD Dcryptor (Or any other program that can burn ISO's onto DVD's)
-Internet Connection (To download the patch)
1.) First you need to make an ISO of ToD:DC and to do that you need to use a DVD burning program. I always go with DVD Dcryptor. It's free, it's simple and it doesn't take up loads of space. It's more like a little window.
Just google it.
I can't really tell you how to make the ISO because you may not choose DVD Dcrypter but it's pretty much the same for any DVD Burning/Ripping program.
2.) Now that you have the ISO of ToD:DC you'll need to download the patch, it will obviously be available from Phantasian Production when it's released.
3.) Once the patch is downloaded you have to patch it. Normally you'll get instructions with it, I'll avoid posting a method because it ends up look messy. (Especially the way I write it).
4.) If the patch has worked you should now have a new .ISO which will be the translated version! (When patching it will rename it so you'll know which one is the new one)
5.) Next you go back to DVD Dcrypter (or any DVD burning program) and do the opposite of what you did at the start of the process. Instead of burning the games ISO onto your drive you are going to burn the ISO onto a blank DVD-R/DVD+R.
You will get a notification if it has completed it sucessfully.
6.) Go and play the using Swap Magic/HD Loader/Modded PS2 and enjoy.
Very easy.

Any DVD burner suffices, as for DVD burning software, I'm not too much into it, but Nero and Alcohol 120% always worked.
(buying a DVD burner just to burn a DVD though seems... too much, I'm sure you can borrow someone's or barge into their homes just the same :p

Correction: It's a patch for the directors cut of the remake

That's not a correction, that's nit picking.
And thats partially misleading. Whilst the Director's Cut is an upgrade from the Remake they are still different games so saying something like that is only going to confuse people between the two.

I'll probably buy DC in two weeks or so, whenever I go to the city again. I'll probably also get ToD2 and Rebirth while I'm there, if they have it.
Also, I knew it was for DC, not for ToDr, I just was giving ToDr as an example of a game I have as a burned copy.

Still you.
@Lelouch; Do get Rebirth, it's very fun! Addictive battle system.

Don't remind me, I've been wanting to play Rebirth for a long time now. I like how the Hi-Ougi's are all finishers, or something to that effect. I think I'll be buying the PS2 version, but the PSP version is tempting. Depends on the price difference.
Also, hearing "KUREAAA" in Link's voice is a major plus. My friend insisted that we go 50/50 on the cost of the game, because he LOVES anyone voiced by Hiyama Nobuyuki (Link's Seiyuu/Voice Actor)

I have the PS2 version because I prefer playing on a big screen.
Once I've gotten fully used to it, had a couple of play throughs I'll start playing the PSP version.
Will be easier for me to hack aswell.
I have all the Artes in Rebirth translated but that's all I'm doing because last time I started a project like that I ended up abandoning it.
I originally started Tales of Destiny: DC but then Cless PM'd me and told me he'd been at it since February. That's pretty much why he made it public, because of me XD.

Actually, I just decided to put in ToDr for fun, and I don't know how to start the new game with grade bonuses. When I selected the completed file, It just took me to the pre-final boss room. The..script is only a script, so I don't know how to start a new game (I want to try Single Play big time)
Oh, and thanks for helping Cless announce it

Awesome, thanks. I just wish I had the motivation to beat the games enough times to get all the bonuses. I picked Single Play.
I'm gonna die a horrible, painful death.
That being said, thanks a ton. My only gripe with this game is..well, why stick to using sprites? I'd really have enjoyed it more if it had Symphonia-esque graphics at the least. Otherwise, amazing game.

You know, most people prefer the Team Destiny games because they stick to 2D... I would have liked ToDr so much less if it had been Team Symphonia style. Both styles exist, why not just play the ones in the style you like? I, for one, would be very sad if Team Destiny abandoned 2D (which this latest game seems to indicate).

I'm disappointed that not a single recent 2D sprite destiny style game made it out of japan. You know what would be awesome? A 2D destiny game in hd
You know what else would be awesome? If they ever made that kinda game hopefully NOA would have the guts to localize it
rant over

How..do you do spriting in HD? I asked myself the same question with HD anime..I just don't understand, lol.
I wouldn't mind the sprites so much if the outlines weren't so visible. I know Rebirth and Destiny 2 have the same problem, but I don't care. I WILL BEAT EVERY GAME IN THE SERIES. Well..all the mothership titles anyway. Innocence and Narikiri Dungeon can wait.
Also, I heard Sony and Bamco (Bandai-Namco) had a falling out, and that's why PS3 isn't getting Vesperia.
