I actually opened it, and I think I pulled something.

forgive me if I'm beeing rude, but I guess it'd be better if you buy another ps2, don't you think? 'cause some problems just can't be solved, it's just as it is and maybe your ps2 have had enough already, but anyway, forgive me if I've said anything wrong.

Hmm Does this only count for Director's Cut? Or just on the Remake? And is this for an Emulator? Huh

My PS2 comes on, but the disc doesn't spin.

I had the same problem with my slim. It turned out it was a loose ribbon cable connecticng the whole laser unit to the motherboard... Or something like that.
Anyway, Just make sure all your wires are secure. If that doesn't work you might need a new motor or something.

Need cash. I'm pretty sure I can fix it. If it is the lens, I can just buy a new one.

Lens cost around $50, IIRC.

Could it be possible, though extremely difficult I believe, to add extra content "Versus Mode"? I know it is very rude of me to ask this perhaps. But I mean no intent to make it seem like I am hinting toward that you should make an extra mode :p Just wondering if it is physically possible or not.

EDIT: Though making it possible to make you and your friends duke out against each other should not be too hard entirely right? I mean, couldn't you just reference the code to the original files that already exist in the game right? (I don't know if I got that right). And make Player Two be "Enemy" entity. However, that would mean code from scratch wouldn't it? And the most problematic would be the "choosing" a character... so meh, I don't want you to entirely consider this idea to be honest. I just want you to answer the first question really. If it is physically possible or not (copy). I just had to speculate how it would be done :p you don't need to answer the Edit (I'm a loud speculator and analyzer, forgive me for this dreaded habit/curse of mine).

Just be glad your mother board didn't fry like my last PS2.
The repair guy put a new one in and it just fried that aswell.
His facial expression was priceless since he had just wasted a mother board.

Very hard to do when the game doesn't have a multiplayer versus to speak of in the first place. the easier way to do it, if it was viable would probably hack the party in order to use the multiplayer for 4 players in a party but, this time against each other. (meaning character versus character taking damage)

Also, bare in mind that they don't have acess to the source code so all hacks have to be through trial and error, extraction and insertion tools, and... reverse engineering., not as simple as "there's that there, so let's do this" they'd have to hack their way through it.

Last but not least... this is a translation effort more than a alternate version hack, so don't expect anything added (and by don't expect I mean, don't expect it at all). Just the translation

Just thought I'd say "You don't have to say something that is already answered", other from that I think I got my answer. It could be possible but extremely hard to do.

Dissidia was released in jap not too long ago, mayhaps Namco will create an equivalent game out of the Tales serie *hopes*

But I thought the Phantasia Patch wasn't quite finished?
yea it's incomplete. i actually used the patch from Absolute Zero (which is GOOD btw). but anyways, i'm sure nothing will happen with this before Tales of Phantasia is done with.

Hello everyone. I am actually looking forward to this, a lot, because I have the original ToDr but I don't understand Japanese..there was a script translator, but that's not relevant to this.

I'm just wondering, what am I going to need in order to play this when it is released? (Note: I'm not asking when it is released, just what I'm going to need..I know developers hate being asked that, so I won't).

You'll need internet connection to download the patch, most likely a Windows PC to apply the Patch and a ISO of your game to apply the patch to, a DVD-R and a DVD burner as well as a DVD burner software capable of burning ISO's.

Then, you'll need a PS2 capable of running "backups" (DVD-R's).

That's all.
