You can definatley extract the images, Cless extracted loads from this game.
I actually do loads of graphics editting on PC games, you just know how to acess the files and such. The game I usually edit graphics/images for pretty much has been pulled apart and has a shit load of custom tools so it's pretty easy.
Basically I'm saying yes. You SHOULD be able to edit the images and slap them back in but i'll leave that up to Cless to answer it fully.

It sucks that the ones Cless got had that transparent issue if he tried doing it w/out the black BG, since it's a pain to render them out due to that.

First of thanks for doing this.  Secondly I know you mentioned it in your post, but is there even a remote interest to do Tales of Rebirth.  Also the status of ToD2?  Thanks again Cless and AZ.  I can't belive there is hope for me to actually play these Tales of games (vesperia is good but not great like ToS and Abyss or these two gems).  Thanks.

I thought only the Lilith one was transparent?
I saw a load of portrait images of characters that looked fine.
Or had Cless done something to them?

Alpha isn't really that bad, you just need to know how to work with it. I'm very familiar on how to work with alpha so it never really poses a problem for me =/
From that image thread, I was most impressed by the amount of effort Namco put into the Images for Items.
Destiny got really nice Hi Resolution images whilst games like Symphonia, Destiny 2 and Abyss had the same small sprites used over and over again.

All of the item icons from that ZIP of his were black'D.

One last thing...can you edit/replace images in this game? I just thought it would be cool if you held a contest where people could design a new HQ cut-in for Majinken Setsuga. After all, Leon got stiffed compared to the other characters in that regard.

yes you can and i think that's a VERY good idea. of course, i would also go for just switching the HQ cut-ins from the 2nd Blast Calibur (sorry, don't know what it's called, can't read Japanese) and Majinken Setsuga.

I have all the images extracted from this game and they are in the TIM2 format (.tm2) but regular converters don't seem to work and only two of them could be correctly opened in a program I have.
It's a shame Cless keeps all his programs private, though he did make him so that's his choice. I know shit about programming so I always request my programs.

Hey, I have an idea for this project...

I recently found a translated script of tales of destiny director's cut in gamefaqs... This script contains ALL the dialogues in the game and contains all the other things in the game like items, arts, etc...

Why don't you just use the script to translate the game???...

It's too much easy to copy and paste...XD...

but i think that you can use the Title names, items, monster...because in the end, it's be the same of anyone script...

And i thinked that way is too faster than waiting for years...

I appreciate that you wanted to help. We've already finished all of the items and descriptions. Most of the titles are done as well (and they're probably rather different than that script). I forget if we're totally done with monster names, but I know we're close. In any case, the menu translation isn't going to take years, so you don't have to worry about that. In the end, I just feel better when I can say that I've done all of my own work rather than borrowing from others without permission.

For as long as he's been working on ToP PSX, I'd doubt he'd just go and abandon it.

thx to Absolute Zero team which translate Tales of phantasia on PSX at last i can play it with english with skit which been translate it was the great translation....

TOD DC and TOD 2 was my fav game so i see that the team is planning to translate it so i was exciting to see it to become real...

btw just want to ask something,so have the team is only doing tales of destiny director's cut translation only?and TOD 2 is being pending?
ow yeah and about the Tales of rebirth....is there any planning to translate that?...
