Seriously, i doubt that anyone would mind playing ToD with translated menus/items and everything else you already translated. Can you please post unfinished patch so we at least could "partialy" play this great game? Tongue It would make waiting for full patch easier ;p

No. Even as a fan-translation project there's a level of professionalism that is desired by the staff, and handing out an incomplete patch would be counter-productive. Not only would it be unstable (because of all the changes made by the extra hacking and issues arising whenever the game gets to content affected by it), it would also scare away more potential helpers.

In the latter case, it's a very common problem because people tend to run away once they've gotten their "fix" (some even go away because they make an entire judgement on a work-in-progress and expect everything to be the way it is in its' incomplete form, before any editing and polishing can be done). Not to mention all the annoyance of people complaining about bugs and the untranslated content. Things stay internal for a reason.

have you heard bout burango's monster hunter 2 translation project? I didint saw anything like what you described happening to him... And he released like 4 unfinished versions of his patch already. It might not be "all" bot it allows to play and finish the game...

What I was trying to infer with my first paragraph, is that the staff here desire to maintain a level of professionalism in their work. While it is true that some projects have enough interest to keep the people who want to play it around, it's not always the case. Sometimes it works to have a release routine of unfinished patches, sometimes it doesn't. Some people don't have the patience to wait. It also just doesn't jive with the working style behind the scenes here.

[EDIT] Also, keep in mind that this is done as a hobby in people's spare time.

Yeti pretty much sums it up very well. But since I love throwing my 2cent every now and then when there are topics about these sorts of subjects I shall keep on typing  Grin

If people can't wait; All I can say is that there are plenty of text translations around the web and simple guides, and the UI itself only really takes about 5 minutes of your time to get sorted out if it's in Japanese anyway. Sure, item names and such aren't that easy to pick up on, but nothing a quick guide can't fix, or a little bit of trial and error wont get you used to. Besides, a lot of games are much more exciting and exotic when you're completely oblivious to everything that's going on haha

Anyway, people on the team work at their own pace.
It generally works better "for us" to wrap up something in a way we're happy with, followed by a bit of "considering" whether or not to release it (to then, of course, release it when we feel we've "done our best")

[EDIT] Also, keep in mind that this is done as a hobby in people's spare time.

Aaaw crap! You mean no one's getting paid for this?

Darn... Not again! Cry

Haha, yeah. I don't know a lick of Japanese and I got through Destiny remake just fine.
I mean there's item pictures and even a freaking glowing dot on the world map on where you have to go!  haha Only thing you're missing out on is story, which isn't much of a big deal since the original exists in English and the story doesn't differ too much.

Just wait for the patch patiently if you want it in English. I have no doubt that once it's released, it'll be really well made.

I can probably say one thing (as far as progress and release dates go);

Once ToP releases, the gap you're looking at before ToDrDC and ToD2 evt. wraps up will NOT be as huge as ToP's project period haha

Well to be fair if ToDrDC and ToD2 took 3 years each (so 6 years total) it'd still be much faster then ToP :X
