hopefully it helps, but i sent the info for the "Ps2 The Best" version of this game (just happened to be the copy i had in my hand) and yeah, hope its helpful!
i love this game, i just have a huge problem trying to remember which of my skills is which ><!!!

The file size is the same as the megahits version, but the checksums are different. can you get the checksums for the individual files?
EDIT: For reference these are the checksums to the mega hits files.

again, i whole heartedly apologize for not sending the codes yet. i am having quite a few problems over here trying to get my computer to be nice to me and it isnt ><!!

Before I ask this question let me say that i dont know a thing about programing and translating games;
So.......is there a way to put the finished translation, after a year or whatever, on the ISO file of the psp version (if it is the same at all).

Guy... listen it's hard to hack a PS2 game. It's near impossible to hack ToD for PSP so easily...

hey Cless i read on your site that you needed help translating stuff for TOD2, Try searching for a program called Atlas. It's basically like bablefish translator except only it's like 10X better. i've used it and it works great.

if psp hacking was so hard then how come that only within 4 or 5 months of the release someone had already translated Tales of eternia? basically all you would have to do is , if you wanted the script translated in TOD for psp just dump the iso to a memory stick use umdgen to extract teh files and so on.

translation, done by an actual person. Translator software can not be trusted - trust me - I'm bilingual
. Such software can sometimes give strange results. The human mind is much better. Wait and see.

i'd rather have a piece of software do it and get a few words wrong than have a real person take 6 more months to do it themselves, and you know i'm Bilingual too . but like i said i'd rather have a program do something in 2 minutes than take 5 months. or you could use it and just go through and make corrections which would take less than 5 months.

It's best to have a human translate things for a game. We don't want another ToP-GBA Ragnarok->Kangaroo quality screw up...
Anyway, even though software can translate more and more accurately each day, it is limited. Especially for something like Phantasia, which has connections to other Tales games in things such as story and common names, a translating program cannot know these connections. When a character or some other part of the game talks about something that has shown up in other games, it has to have continuity with those games.
Things such as the Derris Kharlan, Sylvarant and Tethe'alla, the Eternal Sword, etc, need to match up with Symphonia. Tech names need to match the names of the same techs that have shown up in other localized Tales games that have said techs. A machine doesn't know about these things. While speech may be accurately translated, it doesn't refer to other games like it should. Continuity with Symphonia and other localized Tales games is priority one.
Also, this is project is trying to be comparable to a professional localization. A professional company would never use translating software, they'd have a small team of people collaborate and translate everything. Since Cless cannot have a small team of people, he wants one person. One person will make sure a script isn't split among people and have translation differences when different parts are pieced together.

it is, under no circumstances, appropriate to use software to translate things:
On BabelFish, I typed in English: "
I would love to have some tea with you on Sunday.
"
I then copied and pasted the Japanese back and translated it back into English (as from my experience, back-translating is the only way to know if it translated what you wanted it to say). The Japanese: "
私は日曜日のあなたが付いている茶を食べたいと思う。
"
Here's what the translated Japanese turned into: "
I think that we would like to eat the brown where you of Sunday have been attached.
"
I would rather wait 10 years for a single person to translate a game I love than have an immediate "translation" using any sort of computer software, no matter how good it boasts itself to be.

have you ever even tried
using
translation software? XDXD
try world.altavista.com, for example.

Spanish:
Amaría comer algo de té con usted el domingo
Not so bad, uses "comer" (to eat) instead of "tomar" (to drink), and uses "amor" (love) , the kind of love you feel for someone.
Also, the gramatic is a little wierd, but correct.
Back to english:
It would love eating something of tea with you Sunday
My, my... This is no good... Something is just not right with this... I don't know... Everything, maybe?? The translation speaks for itself
Even if you use German, the closest language to english on babelfish list, is at least a little wrong, and you lose the subject and hence the meaning:
I would love to drink something dte with you on Sunday.
And keep in mind that it's not a complex sentence...
